Toshiba's TG01 gets thumbs up from the FCC with CDMA inside
The Toshiba TG01 is one of those handsets that is packed with features. After all, it runs Qualcomm's 1GHz Snapdragon processor and is equipped with a massive 4.1 inch display. For those in the U.S. who have been drooling over this slim model, there is good news. The FCC has given a thumbs up on the phone, but not just any version. The FCC was passing their judgment on a CDMA model of the TG01 which means that if this touchscreen is to make it to the States, it will most likely be wearing the colors of Sprint or Verizon. And considering the way developers have been knocking the game playing ability of webOS and the Palm Pre, would Sprint allow their new flagship phone to be challenged by the outstanding gaming support of Toshiba's handset? That would leave Big Red as the potential U.S. home for the TG01. Hmm....sounds plausible.

The FCC paperwork noted that the testing was done on a production model which means that Toshiba might have been planning this trip accross the Atlantic for some time. And if it turns out that neither Sprint nor Verizon are involved, it would mean another unlocked import crashing U.S. borders.
