Kudos to Toshiba for obviously following through because starting today, a new software update for the Toshiba Thrive is being pushed out as we speak. Rather than following the usual update process we tend to see...

Cool i have been looking to buy a reasonably priced tablet. The thrive is a good one and the asus. Glad to see updates.

That seems to solve two of the most quoted drawbacks with the thrive. The three things that make me doubt it are:
1 The ports
2 The readily replaceable battery
3 That it doesn't try to be an iPad trope (looking at your Tab 10.1)
I am insecure enough to need more reasons to believe. Give me some!

I actually received an ICS update for this tablet a few days ago and it makes the device so much better. It is complete trash without ICS-very buggy and slow. I would recommend a Nexus 7 and if that is too small, then ASUS Transformer Prime.
