Toshiba TG01 for Verizon almost a reality?
Better late than never, right? One would definitely live by those words, but the Toshiba TG01 has been around for some time now since we first laid our eyes on it. With Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphones already here, it'll still stand out from the pack thanks to its massive 4.1” touchscreen and blazing fast Snapdragon processor. Back over the summer, the FCC gave thumbs up to the Snapdragon powered device – which was alleged to hit Verizon. Now one of our tipsters has shed some light on the possibility of it gracing the number one wireless carrier in the country. Cellebrite machines used to transfer information from one handset to another recently had the TG01CV pop up as the sole Toshiba device to be supported. We're unsure as to whether this will hint to a sure release, but we're hopeful that Big Red is speeding up the process – the TG01 is still a powerful device, but it's starting to look pale in comparison to the recent HTC HD2.

Thanks to our tipster!

It better have 6.5, soon upgraded to 6.5.1, and I think I will buy it, IF the HD2 doesn't come to CDMA soon as I have VZW. But I was excited to buy this phone, just like the omnia 2, about 6e months ago. With better devices already available, I don't see the point of "upgrading" to an inferior device. Poor Toshiba, this phone would have been big in August on VZW or Sprint. But with the TP2, the Imagio/Whitestone, Pixi and Pre, and DROID and Eris for competition, this phone would sit on the back burner.

If i had to guess the Toshiba model is in the Cellbrite so we can transfer numbers from it to a VZW device. It would be nice to have a Snapdragon device but i would rather have the HD2. When it comes to the Omnia II ive been asking about it and all i hear is that its coming and we cant talk about it because its "top secret"! Hearing that its top secret is a load of crap. VZW is holding back inventory of the WinMo devices intentionally because they are pushing the Android OS.

If i had it my way i would send it to sprint... but seeing how i have no power in the matter if either phone goes to VZW i might be heading that way.. As a sprint customer it upset's me how they don't bid on the phones that could help them compete in the market. cause i don't care what any body say's it's not the plans it's the phones that bring people to the company... and if this happens then im porting my number and coming to big red......
