I think I'd lean more towards the 7.7 myself. I'm not too worried about the plastic body. I'm a protection nut so even my Razr Maxx is in an Otterbox. My tablet's (when I finally decide to get one) going in some kind of casement too. Plastic body - negated.
Still, I'm gonna wait to see what Windows 8 tablets and the Nexus tablet from Asus bring to the table. And by that time the price will hopefully have come down a bit on the Excite line-up.

agreed on waiting on the windows 8 tablets. I'm excited to see what MS has in store for us and what the manufacturers are going to do with the platform as well. Looking forward to getting another fighter in the ring to drop prices down.

This looks nice, I was going to get a tablet soon but I just picked up a lapdock for my Motorola Photon that will hold me over until the Windows 8 and possibly iPad 4 come out. I also have a BB Playbook which is a great little tablet for browsing. I thought I wouldn't like the 7" form factor but it turns out I like it better than my brother's iPad, much easier to handle and carry.
