Tomorrow is Apple iPad release day for Verizon
Earlier this month we were a bit surprised to hear that Verizon was going to be selling the Apple iPad later in October. Tomorrow, your wait is up, as you will be able to purchase the iPad at any Verizon Wireless store, or through the Verizon web site, but there will be a several options available for you to choose from. First off, Verizon would prefer you to buy the iPad bundled along with their MiFi 2200 mobile hotspot, that will connect the iPad to Verizon's EVDO Rev A network. This combo-pack will set you back $629.99 for the 16GB memory version, $729.99 for the 32GB, and $829.99 for the 64GB. You'll also have to get a data plan for use with the MiFi 2200, which ranges from 1GB of monthly data for $20, 3GB for $35, 5GB for $50, and 10GB for $80. Of course, if you want to just purchase the iPad without the MiFi 2200 and data plans, you can do that too for $499.99 for 16GB memory version, $599.99 for 32GB, and $699.99 for the 64GB version. Even though Verizon will not be combining the iPad along with the new Fivespot Global hotspot, you can use it with it, but will have to purchase the Fivespot separately, along with a data plan.

Isn't the iPad 3G+Wifi a better deal thru AT&T. Unless I'm mistaken, the 3G service is pay-as-you-go, so you don't have to pay a monthly service fee for AT&T's iPad... which is significantly less than the $20+ monthly plans offered from Verizon. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken. Thanks.

I wonder why they did not subsidize the iPad......those prices are ridiculous. Galaxy Tab FTW

Its the same with all other models everywhere else. There is no contract with it so its full retail just like ATT.

you do not need to sign a contract for the data plan for VZW...it's month to month like at&t...$20 for 1GB for VZW vs. $15 for 250 MB for At&t

Gsmalltheway, are you serious? you cant subsidize the ipad dude.. vzw is carring it WITHOUT a contract. they are including the mifi without a subscription.. to some its worth the extra hundred bucks.. other then that .. you can still get it without the mifi for the same prices verizon is just now carring the ipad.... not to mention why the heck would they .. people pay those prices all day long for an ipad!! and the galxay tab is only 100 bucks cheaper.. i bet it doesnt do half as well..

i guess time will tell

Umm you can buy a 16gb iPad for $499 and get a free mifi on a 2yr contract..so would i rather pay $499 or $629??!! I think $499!

as Cazwell states mifi with no contract mines you can stop paying for the plan at anytime. You can even restart it whenever you want with the prepaid pricings and never be on contract. If you plan on using VZW perm or atleast for 2 years then that may be a good solution but thats not what most customers want.

Ashlie, Verizon would much rather the customer did just that... sign the contract and receive the free MiFI; however, paying $129.99 for the MiFi sans contract is a better deal for most consumers!

WiFi is just about everywhere here in the northeast US through many of the Cable providers, there are hotspots just about everywhere. Screw data plans and rediculous Verizon contracts as well as absurd selling prices. Go anywhere online and buy it, just not from a cellular carrier.

newfdog 13 - I will say this one time to the people who cant understand YOU CAN PURCHASE THIS FOR THE SAME 499 YOU COULD ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!! THIS OFFERS A CHEAPER MBB SOLUTION TO THE PEOPLE WHO WANT IT. IF YOU DONT THEN GO BE A JACKASS SOMEWHERE ELSE WITH YOUR MONEY, YOUR STUPIDITY IS NOT NEEDED BECAUSE CONSUMERS ARE DUMB ENOUGH WE DO NOT WANT YOU IN A STORE. thanks

iloveeeit- i will say this one time to idiots like you who can understand. "your stores" are run by Verizon's greed. My point was about getting WiFi for free, AS WELL AS buying the product anywhere else, not at Verizon.

newdog13. Hate to break it to you bud, but companies are in this business to, yes, make money. Every business is necessarily run by "greed", that's simply how the market works. If you want something for nothing, than go ahead and see if you can find a charity that can take care of your mobile needs.

Otherwise, take your sanctimonious "Im smarter than you mentality" and go play elsewhere. Maybe you will eventually find that Nirvana where all your needs are paid for by someone else's money, where greed has nothing to do with anything anymore. Say, that's called Socialism! Good luck on that, son.

I bet you vote Democrat, don't you?
