Wow 1.3 million worldwide. That is staggering. I always kept saying almost 1,000,000 but I guess I was selling myself short. Again I keep saying this, people across the globe are embracing Android. People choose to spend their hard earned money on Android because they REALLY like what Android brings to the table.
It really IS the most VERSATILE mobile OS ever.
ANDROID FOR THE WIN!

fair play to android, it is a great OS but not the most versatile OS in the world......sadly that was symbian even as old as it is it has many advantages over android plus belle fp1 mite not be as eye catching but its sure as hell just as good

Yes but Symbian is dead. We are talking about what is current. There is NOTHING currently more versatile than Android.
Once in the past there was Symbian, but Symbian is no more.

well symbian isnt completely dead, some rumors the 808 will still be recieving future updates but even so a dead OS been the most functional shows that other OS's have so far to go.

or maybe because is free and dont knwo anybetter.. hey it does happen.. I dont think they embrace Android if they dont stick around Adroid.. 45% satisfaction..
16. SuperAndroidEvo posted on 05 Sep 2012, 14:39 7 1
What are you talking about? If Android's satisfaction rate was that high then word of mouth would begin. That is clearly not happening. They activate 1.3 million units daily. That is just mind boggling.
18. gallitoking posted on 05 Sep 2012, 14:59 1 9
not arguing the activations part. but to say they embrace Android is not accurate as more than half of the Android lineup is free on contract, and the satisfaction rate of Android is not even 50%. at least half of those activation is because is free on contract.. not because it embraces open Source Android provides..

Agree with Galito here... Tons of people buy android devices just because they are free. I know many people with android phones that don't know sh*t about them, and could care less about "versatility". Props to google though for the incredible sales

And yet, many later start to realise the potential of the androidOS, other than texting and answering call. They start to use whatapps, browse the web, download game for entertainment. I have known many such people that came over from feature phones.
Bottomline is that Andriod additional feature are useful and are still free for them. These people will never own an iPhone because they are unwilling to pay for Apple's Greed.

new devices for one purpose are switching to Android
because Android is free and you can code what ever you want ;)

Apple is the past. WP8 is the present. Android is the future. :)

Well relative to the features of iOS - it's the present. Android, however, relative to the features of WP8 is the future.
To clarify:
Android > WP8 > iOS
12. chaoticrazor posted on 05 Sep 2012, 14:09 3 5
well id put WP8 on par with android
iOS is a restricted outdated os now needs to do some serious redesign to keep it fresh
what features does android have over WP8 ?
are there many

It's customizable.
It's open source.
Nuff said. :)
17. chaoticrazor posted on 05 Sep 2012, 14:42 1 2
Symbian is customizable doesnt really seem to help it though and open source doesnt mean its better
i think WP8 could take a good size of the market

Open file system, ability to side load apps, alternate launcher options, a better notification system, better browsers. The list really can go on and on. Don't read me as an Android fanboy, I just got rid of my HD7 a little while ago. I sort of loved it.

I like my BMW version of a phone. Yup, not everyone has one, and i like it that way. I LOVE my Windows PHone...Nokia Lumia. Keep Selling Google! :-)

Someone can say the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 7 litre v8 is just a Ford.. even tho it sells for almost 300,000 dollars. Comparing phones to cars is just stupid considering even BMW sells cars for 15k which is the same price point as most all other car manufacturers so in reality any car manufacturer is more like Android than anything else.. giving plenty of price range to suit the consumers budget. BMW is more like Apple anyways ;) even the smallest repair will cost an arm and a leg.

Thats great. Apple is in the past even with the IPHONE 5. IT will not match the killer phones coming now and later on. With that much momentum going for the OS it will stay on top forever!. By than the IPHONES crap will be dead.

Where u at Apple? Pls don't disappoint, with the same old mandane UI, Samsung, Nokia, HTC and Moto showed their loyal fans gr8 innovation. What do u have for us?
We are only asking for the new iPhone and UI design.
Where u at? Spend that paper on innovation instead of stupid court fights.
