Yes, I've included his statement as well. We'll keep on updating the page as more people share their feelings and thoughts.

@ Firedrops.

1. Products Apple has released this year have been incremental upgrades, and they have said as much.

2. Building up hype is just part of doing business. Whether or not they believe the product is going to be revolutionary, they're going to try to convince the customers that it is.

3. Steve Jobs died of natural causes. They did not set the date for an event that takes tons of planning around a prediction of the exact day that Steve Jobs would pass away.

4. You think problems/kinks with such a device can be ironed out in a week? Moreover, you think that they would just give up with less than a week to go?

Your comment is a mess of misinformation and lack of understanding of how businesses operate. If you are going to be a conspiracy theorist, at least try to employ some logic.

A great man, a genius, an innovator and leader. You don't have to own an Apple product to recognize the impact this giant had. We're all a little poorer without him. I'm typing this on an Android phone, fully aware that without his vision, this device would look radically different. It's a true shame anyone has to die of such a miserable disease, but seems a tragic waste for someone of his stature, almost like he should have died more heroically. Condolences to his family and friends. Take some small comfort in knowing how much he changed the world.

Yes, sad day indeed...As he was well known for his business sense as much as for his philanthropy achievements.

Rest in Peace Mr. Jobs, you will be missed dearly.

Even as an Android user myself, I cant say I wasn't saddened by this news. Being honest, at times I would say this or that about i-products, but in the end, would find myself being the one looking online for the newest iPhone or iPod, just to compare it to competition. The android user who would look for streaming videos online of the latest and greatest out of Apple Events. As that person, some of us would defend our OS to the death (not speaking literally) but at the same time, you cannot deny this man's intelligence and drive for excellence when it came to Apple products. So I think that NONE of us are really "fanboys" of any particular phone or platform. but instead, we're simply fans of technology and innovation. whether we decide one over another, Steve Jobs was definitely one of those men who made us look forward to what technology has to offer for our generation, as well as generations to come.

So from ALL technology lovers out there, Thank you Steve Jobs! your inspiration will live on, you will never be forgotten...

What makes me sad is these ceo's and whoever usually are fake profit drivin people that really have little or no morrals. I really wish that the things they wrote are heart fealt and not just what there suposed to say cause we all know that steves passing will inderectly or directly help other companies grow or shrink off of the sweat of what Steve Jobs accomplished, and that makes me sick to my stomache. I cant say i loved steve cause well i did not know the real person. But to here these people say stuff like they were coming from a hallmark card makes me think they were not sincere as much. Maybe they were just saying what they had to say so there companies can look good in front of the national media or for public support And to act like they sympathise with them. In reality some of them are just worried or sickenly exited to see how this affects their companies or investments in other companies. Or worse yet where in the stock market to invest there money or where to pull there money out. . And to the non ceos just to say somthing that is said that is best political for there future of what ever they are doing. I know there are most of them that are sincere but people are fake any more and will say anything to get in the limelight. I am really tired did not sleep yet but what i got to say about this is Steve i dont know you, I know that your decisions on making products and implamenting software ideas in the long run were really to make money. I mean your a leader of a {well thanks to you mostly} huge company that i wish i would have bought stock in. I just believe in my tired little heart you cared about more than that. I think you are like a great athlete like micheal jordan or walter peyton. You had that drive to succede. I think no matter what you did you would have either been one of the greatest at it. People like you have not only drive but the ability to implament your ideas and project your enthousiasm on to other people to show them that where you want to go is the best way. That made you the kind of person that made people want not only to follow you where ever you went but to trust you to get there. Like moses bringing his people to the promis land. I say it like that because i believe that even though you got them to the promis land you your self left us way to early to actually expierenc it for your self. and look back and say well everybody we made it. YOu left a bright future for apple to build on and i hope the people that our next in line can continue the journy and someday take what you built into the next chapter of the great epic story of APPLE.. There are some great minds there but without there leader, the glue that heald everything together, that apple is in a very bad spot of falling apart. No matter how much you mentor somebody there eventually are going to do things there own way. I hope i am wrong but histery says apple minus Steve Jobs=failure. RIP Steve Jobs

One more thing. I hope atliest you hookes god up with an LTE iphone5 with a bigger screen and not the 4s. I actually believe in my heart if you were still in charge you would have either found a way or waited a little longer and delivered an LTE version. What good is all that power in that phone if most of the time i am streaming somthing like youtube video and have to wait every 10 seconds for the phone to download more of the video

It's nice to read some of these statements.

One thing I don't get is why commenters keep having to clarify they're not Apple fans. If you want to leave a comment go ahead but no one really cares if you're an Apple fan or not.

Never was a big Apple fan, and sold against them for years. However, with that being said, I respected Steve Jobs highly. The way he innovated the music, internet, and phone industry is unmeasurable. He was truly a genius, and as a programmer/inventor myself, I can only hope to do something as great as Steve Jobs. He will be missed.

Millions of people better than Steve Jobs have died and nobody cared.

Apple is a fashion brand like Prada. Apple did not "innovate", they simply made their own versions of technology already invented by other people, and people bought the Apple branded stuff because of the Apple name. What was Apple first at? What about the Commodore PET, Xerox PARC and Alto, GEOS graphical user interface, Amiga, Atari ST, Diamond Rio MP3 player, Palm Pilot, Blackberry, HP iPaq, Microsoft Tablet PC, etc., etc., etc.?

Steve Jobs was not an engineer and did not even know how to write a computer program. Where was his genius? Apple fired him in 1985 because he was such a jerk and a bad businessman. Even Apple products were not created by Steve Jobs, but by actual engineers such as Steve Wozniak, who Steve Jobs stabbed in the back.

whoa..."Pirates of Silicone Valley" was just a movie man. im pretty sure there are some fictional parts to it. It's funny to see that Jobs was re-hired to Apple, probably because he was good at being a "jerk and bad businessman" I agree that there were many people who have died that deserved recognition, but you're mad bc when they died, they did not get flowers, apples, cards and sticky notes in memory of them? my friend, you are SMOKING CRACK if you believe Apple didn't innovate anything. either that or you do not know the definition of "Innovation"
