The system requirements of Windows Mobile 7?

This article contains unofficial information.
The same guy mentioned several days ago, again on Twitter, that all applications developed for WM 6.5 would be incompatible with Windows Mobile 7. On the other hand, Greg Sullivan, Senior marketing manager of Microsoft has already stated the next generation operating system will be able to run in two screen resolutions only. Assuming the information of Mr. Murtazin is correct and the fact that the famous HTC HD2 will get an update to WM7, the second native resolution supported by the platform will probably be higher than 480x800 pixels. Did anyone mention HD? Well, this is still just a rumor, but fingers crossed (we would keep even our toes crossed if that could help) that Microsoft finally reveals the whole truth about Windows Mobile 7 at MWC 2010 that is to take place in the middle of February, 2010.

Now this is how Windows Mobile will come back. One of the biggest problems with Windows Mobile over any other operating system is that programs couldn't be made for the OS, it had to be made for a certain phone alone. This will give developers some uniformity as far as making programs and applications for the phones themselves.

So you are saying Symbian apps can run in any phone OS. :/ duh.. I mean .. are you even thinking? Now if you want to develop crossed platformed mobile application .. then write apps for JavaME

It sounds like winmo is pullin on the reigns and streamlining the policies and requirements which is one of the biggest most crucial part of a overhaul. If this is true I love how the minimal screen size is 3.6. So swell. It looks like they heard everyones cry of a lag w/ that 1 gig processor min. Hopefully all this is true. if it is I'm following this guy on Twitter

The other rumored screen resolution is 1280x800. WM7 will most likely have a built-in emulator to run and upconvert (resolution-wise) WM5+6 programs. Just forget about 6.5, because everything that runs in 6.5 runs in 6.0 and most likely 5.0 also. February is too far away!!....

hehe. I don't want developing WinMo application and running an WM7 emulator in 1280x800 window size .. hope this emulators can be scaled down.

That's great that they have a spec minimum, but honestly the problem is with the UI, that requires the most attention(IMO), if they can make a multimedia rich UI they will make it back to the top, if not they will fail.
