We will have to wait and see. I'm thinking that Apple's implementation is actually 'voice recognition' in that the device recognizes 'your' voice only; not just a voice command from 'anyone' who uses your phone.

Anyway, only a few more days......

Apple is nothing more than a bunch of 'copycats' copying voice recognition software on their OS

I'm actually thinking that this voice recognition might learn from your speaking to it. But in a much better way than the programs like Dragon. It'll prolly have you read a paragraph just to get the phone acquainted with how your dialect is and it'll learn from there. I don't think Apple would tout it so highly if it wasn't truly groundbreaking. They know, better than any of you or myself, what's been done already in the VR area with mobile devices. So let's see what it is first before we nail it to the wall ;)

Android already does that but you don't have to read a paragraph it stores the recordings of each voice action (if you want) and learns off that... as of now I think mine is up to around 300-400 recordings that it uses to better recognize my voice instead of people around me.

Thumbed yourself up makes you more dumb. Keep telling yourself that all Apple iscdoing is copying. If it in fact announces voice commands it will be much better than anything android has.

I can't believe that a simple function as Search is the platform that Apple is standing on now to launch the iphone4S

Where did you dumb fandroid mind decide that it's a search function? Just cause that's all android does doesn't mean other companies can't make good functional voice operating systems.

Yeah, because when I tell my phone "send text to xxx... What time are you getting off work tonight? I want to go to dinner! :)"

and it sends a text message saying EXACTLY what I said (including punctuation)

That's definitely a search function. For sure.

Also, "navigate to Five Guys in XXX, Connecticut" is also most certainly a search function.

Good one taco. Do yourself (and the rest of PhoneArena) a favor and just shut the f**k up for awhile.

Well if we go back to the time when Apple launched Iphone 4 and facetime with it people didnt approve of apple's claims anywhere close to ground breaking. But considering the fact that apple keeps everything selective and exclusive(like itunes and facetime with iphone only) I guess most mobile company beat apple down in any tech area.
The pointers in apple's court are its extra smooth touch screens and a UI that appeals to few but if one starts comparing features it will be a no brainer. As a matter of fact I doubt if anyone buys apple iphone for features its the exclusive club they vie for when they shell out the bucks.Apple as a brand sells, not the iphone as a phone.
But I see that in every comments section people vehemently pick sides.
Come on guys those who support Android and its devices are well aware of the fact their devices are way better in specs than any iphone. So they should care less if any iphone shows up.As a matter of fact they should hope that Apple can actually release some new and cool features so that the scope of innovation keeps growing.
And for iphone fans you people should keep your exclusivity to yourself. You own an elegant device which actually is an icon of today's time.Even when it fails to cheer anyone with good specs yet it manages to turn heads in every corner of the world. So keep your comments clean and have a healthy discussion guys.
A lot can be improved in both the platforms and I seriously hope apple is actually coming up with something good this time unlike the facetime.
Hope apple fans and android fans will understand.

You tried to appear unbiased, but still took jabs at Apple. Saying iOS appeals to "few" and it doesn't sell as a phone, but a brand is ignorant. iPhone is the best selling phone in the world so obviously appeals to more than few. Also to say it doesn't stand on it's own as a phone is ignorant at best and most likely trolling.

Dude. I love how you always bring up that iPhone is the "best selling phone in the world".

If Ford only sold one car they would sell more of that one car than any other company... but people like OPTIONS. You are comparing Apples to oranges (get it? ;P)

BTW thanks for being on here so much today, slow day at work for me and I love pointing out your bulls**t!

I love how people bring Ford he makes cars.. not phones... drop it please.. that is old...to this website... Apple and Android are different why do fandroid keep thinking that Apple must appeal to Android... Apple concentrates on one phone a year to sell millions... Android rather saturate the market with different options... nothing worng with that... either... one has the market share the other has the sales.... is like the ying and yang...

Exactly why I pointed out that by using the logic that the iPhone is the "best selling phone in the world" when comparing to Android is like comparing Apples to oranges...

Hm...not sure why you posted this link. It's from May 2010. Is there a May 2011 version that's more relevant? Also, they don't point out what the phones actually are, they just say Nokia was highest. Why did you find this interesting?
