The new Wileyfox Swift 2 and Siwft 2 Plus launch with Cyanogen OS and low price tags
We've said it before and we'll say it again - 2016 has been an awesome year for budget smartphones. Countless devices have been released this year that feature an excellent mix of affordability and power, and the latest handsets to do just that are the Wileyfox Swift 2 and Swift 2 Plus. The phones come equipped with the Cyanogen OS right out of the box and pretty killer price tags to boot.

First off, let's take a look at the Swift 2. The Swift 2 is the lower-end of the two new handsets, and it comes equipped with a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720. Powering the handset is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, A 2,700 mAh battery is included to help keep the phone going throughout the day, and 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage help to ensure that you've got enough memory for light multitasking and storage for housing all of your apps and games. A 13MP on the back of the phone, Quick Charge 3.0, and a USB Type-C port for charging and syncing round out the spec list.

In regards to the Swift 2 Plus, all of the specs remain mostly the same. However, the memory, storage, and camera all get a nice bump. As opposed to 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 13MP camera, the Swift 2 Plus boasts 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 16MP camera. Both phones run Cyanogen OS 13.1 that's based off of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but the phone should be getting an update to 7.0 Nougat in the near future. In addition to the custom operating system, both the Wileyfox Swift 2 and Swift 2 Plus feature a fingerprint scanner on the back, NFC connectivity, and a body that's made entirely out of aluminium.

Both the Wileyfox Swift 2 and Swift 2 Plus are available for purchase in the UK starting today with prices of £159 and £180 respectively, and that works out to around $196 and $222 in the US. The handsets can currently be purchased from Wileyfox here.
