The iPhone 5 might look like this when held
0. phoneArena posted on 08 Aug 2012, 09:43
Chances are that the iPhone 5 will be taller than the current model, but how exactly will it look like when you're holding it? Well, here are several renders of the next iPhone that can answer that question with decent accuracy, as long as the device's rumored design and dimensions turn out to be true...

The white one looks downright retarded. The black one gives it a slightly better look because it doesn't show exactly how elongated it is.
In the end they are just a stretch armstrong version of the iPhone4.
Pass.

this has been leaked consistently from many, many outlets. i think it's pretty safe to say that this is the new iPhone. i like the way the black one looks. o:

I'm just happy they finally caved and used the modern standard aspect ratio of 16:9. Seriously why haven't they been using it?
79. darkkjedii posted on 08 Aug 2012, 18:31 4 2
Dude look what happened n 2010 when gizmodo got the iPhone 4. Apple sent a cease and return letter, the police, and filed charged and had Jason chens home raided. There has been no reaction to these mockups on apples part, cuz that's all they r. Apple is being very secretive with the new device. So once again, if u think these r the new iPhone ur stupid.
105. KingKurogiii posted on 11 Aug 2012, 00:30 0 1
then why did Tim Cook react so strongly about the leaks that have been going on? remember Apple has changed Management since the iPhone 4. also why has this been leaked from everybody that's supposedly making parts for it? you think this is some kind of collaborative ploy between multiple, different companies? it wouldn't make sense. this design and configuration ties together all of the solid rumors there have been for the new iPhone, there's nothing here to dispute it's authenticity. if i'm stupid for not calling this bogus then fine.
116. Hemlocke posted on 27 Aug 2012, 16:46 0 1
The only real management changes have been Steve Jobs and Mark Papermaster. This is not the new iPhone.
Does anyone remember the story about the iPhone 5 that was being developed in parallel with the 4s, last year, and Steve Jobs himself was leading the 5 team? They didn't release it because it wasn't quite ready, so the 4s got the nod. The leaked photos are last year's 5 parts, not what will be announced this year. "Doubling down" on secrecy isn't allowing a supply chain that you can kill with a pulled order leak every part to actually put together a full device. "Doubling down" is giving everyone what they want, "spy photos," allowing the hype to build, and then yanking the carpet out from under everyone with the real deal. This is Apple's version of market research.

i think the iPhone's design doesn't really need much change except for the bigger screen, thinner and glass removal, so this could really be a good job.
what really sucks about iPhone's is really iOS. it's very boring and useless like an app launcher. Go Launcher does a better job than it.

35. matrix_neo posted on 08 Aug 2012, 12:11 10 7
Android is more advance mobile os in the world, unlike iOS still struggling to cope up with android's features and functionality. Android 2.1 = iOS6 but android 2.1 still much better.
Widgets, shortcuts, gestures, live tiles, live wallpapers are all features in a true smartphone. Iphone is like a feature phone, nokia meego is way better than iphone. It's true iphone is just an app launcher. Why? After turning on your iphone, what you do next? What you will do in your homescreens, staring?? Of course you have to LAUNCH an app in your iphone. Do I have a lame argument also itaco50??!!

So on your android you don't launch apps? On your PC even you launch apps.
You named gimmicks and widgets. Nothing special.
43. KingKurogiii posted on 08 Aug 2012, 12:55 8 4
you don't defend iOS simply by downplaying Android. it's come much too far for that anymore, especially with ICS+. iOS does what it's supposed to do right now by attracting mainstream consumers that want something simple and easy to use. to say otherwise in-dignifies iOS by being compared directly with Android. remember Apples and Oranges, a term i'm sure you've even used in the past. advanced users naturally are going to gravitate more towards Android being that it's more feature rich and immensely expandable with even more features that you otherwise wouldn't be able to use with closed Operating Systems. if it came down to choosing between media players like the iPod Touch and the Galaxy Player series i'd probably get an iPod Touch because i'd want the most third party content and the most power i could get for playing games but when it comes to our phones most of us want expanded functionality and personality out of them and that's where Android delivers. i don't see how you're not tired of this taco. you've even become famed around here for your futile attempts at opening people up to your views. it's just not going to happen.

Let me be helpful by answering what i can do and will use right out of the box with my att service on the galaxy nexus
1. Live Wallpapers
2. Tether Wirelessly without a fee from carrier.
3. Free App with existing Gmail account that right no credit card. my god no credit card wow that alone kills apple iOS.
4. Share Contact with NFC enable phones. what i can really do that awesome XD.
Share apps using NFC Phones. e.g Galaxy Nexus , SGS3, Asus Nexus 7, Etc.
5. Voice Guided navigation. which has been on Android for a while now.
Send text by voice using google voice. has also been added to stock android and is update independently like google maps/navigation.
I could probably go on but you get what i mean.
ps. i can't wait till next nexus series is release i hope JB 4.1.5 or something keeps adding features.

48. android_sucks posted on 08 Aug 2012, 13:04 2 9
Not necessarily....People just want something that works. Android is known for having major lag. If Google can get rid of the lag issues and beef up the security issues, then Android would be a strong contender. Right now they suck!!!
58. KingKurogiii posted on 08 Aug 2012, 13:27 3 2
i addressed what people want from iOS and Android has come far, lag is really not a problem now, it really hasn't been for a while from most high-end devices and besides iPhones aren't lag free. i've seen it myself. i have a friend that's just gone from a 4S to an SIII and a Nexus 7 and hasn't looked back.

My droid 3 is more than a year old now, its running an ICS build, and it hasnt lagged or seemed bogged down by anything. just saying.
And also to comment on the actual article. The Iphone 4/4s was a sexy looking phone. Stretched out, not so much. The first couple times i saw stretched out mock-ups i was hoping it wouldnt be true, but since no other styling has been "leaked" I'm pretty sure this'll be the final look of it, which is kinda a bummer.
68. KingKurogiii posted on 08 Aug 2012, 14:16 0 0
you're in good shape there guy, i loved my Droid 3 with 2.3.4 but to imagine it with ICS...whoo. you are in good, good, shape if you don't need 4G.
71. Berzerk000 posted on 08 Aug 2012, 14:30 2 1
Have you seen videos reviews of any high-end Android smartphones since mid-2011? Hardly any lag, if at all. Plus with the newer phones coming out; GS3, One X (S), Atrix HD, Razr HD (soon), there isn't any lag at all.
89. OSFantasma posted on 09 Aug 2012, 02:20 3 0
i feel like most people like you don't even try a decent android phone and have no personal experience. therefore post either out of strong support for a company, or just for the hell of it i can't tell but at-least with your user name i'm inclined to believe it is because you love apple. could be wrong but how could you even choose a name like that it the same as some one choosing apple sucks. see i just don't get it but eh what ever....
92. mrbtree98 posted on 09 Aug 2012, 02:46 0 0
have you not seen project butter on android 4.1 jellybean. and you can't really use the whole lag thing because ios force closes alot more often than andoridhttp://phandroid.com/2012/02/0
3/android-vs-ios-which-is-really-more-stable-new-data-may-surprise-you/
and the lag can be down to a bad install of an update which can easily fixed

You don't get what I meant of launching apps. There's no need for me to explain farther coz your brain to dumb to understand. It's already too occupied by apple's closed system, your brain obviously affected now.
Seems nothing special to you but maybe next year apple will include it in iOS7, then you will say widgets in iOS better than android, right itaco50??!!

Android is an app launcher also. The widget gives a Lil info but to get the rest u have to........ Wait for it.................. Touch the widget and OMG launch the app omg how dare they
90. OSFantasma posted on 09 Aug 2012, 02:31 1 0
your partially write but not 100. when you have a widget that controls functions with out leaving the main screen its a bit different. For example I have google music running i added the widget and want to change track pause or play or like. that just one example i used sms apps that let me reply right from the widget which is great and make it a bit faster not that popup reply isn't good but if you can swipe through different conversations thought the widget it is much faster.
What do i know right I only fix Apple iPhone's And different Android Phones from Samsung, HTC, Motorola, and computers/notebooks with Windows, Mac and Linux. (Already know not so relevant just thought would let you know)
98. darkkjedii posted on 09 Aug 2012, 10:42 0 0
Now that's a real widget the rest still have to b touched to receive more info. Ios6 does need widgets I admit that but essentially there the same thing. App launchers. Do u agree?

@Taco50 he's saying that the main interface / home screen of iOS is basically an app launcher. There is no flexibility. On Android, you can have whatever you want. Widgets are not gimmicks, they function and provide quick information so the user doesn't have to go to the app and open it unlike iOS which is simply an app launcher. Static icons with no flexibility.

Can you switch WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, Sync and Brightness right from the homescreen on iOS? No. You have to open the settings app and scroll through menus which is very impractical if you're in a rush.
54. taco50 (banned) posted on 08 Aug 2012, 13:22 5 9
I know it takes me an extra 2 seconds. You must be very busy that you can't spare 2 seconds.
Guess what my battery lasts all day with wifi on, Bluetooth on and gps on. It's only android you have to constantly toggle to get every last bit of battery life out.
60. KingKurogiii posted on 08 Aug 2012, 13:29 2 2
same thing goes for the iPhone, the only differentiating factor is the lack of advanced Network Technology from the iPhone, something i'm sure it's about to get a taste of.
