The iPhone 3GS jailbreak is ready, NOT
Since jailbreaking has become a really common thing to iPhone and iPhone 3G users (because it unlocks your device and allows you to install apps found elsewhere than the App Store), it was only a matter of time before someone found a way to crack the new iPhone 3GS. The iPhone Dev-Team informs their jailbreak for the iPhone 3GS is now ready, with only a few issues that need to be addressed, such as push notification. So, what’s stopping them from releasing the thing? It seems that “right now” isn’t the best time to release a jailbreak, since there are still quite a few people out there who haven’t had their pieces of Apple goodness yet. The thing is that if the jailbreak is released now, it would be pretty easy for Apple to fix the bug that makes jailbreaking possible and thus a lot of future iPhone 3GS users will end up with an unjailbreakable device in their hands.

Not to be a jerk or anything (like the other users on this forum) but the following statement is wrong: "it would be pretty easy for Apple to fix the bug that makes jailbreaking possible and thus a lot of future iPhone users will end up with an unlocked device in their hands" If the bug gets fixed, it will prevent future iPhone 3Gs buyers from jailbreaking and unlocking their phone.

they don't want to release it because they don't want apple to fix the bug that makes jailbreak possible and THEY in the sense that its the HACKERS not apple.
