The LG G3 is the first top-end smartphone with a super high-res, 5.5” Quad HD display, and it has plenty of innovation to get excited about: starting with the tiny screen bezel…

Tbh it is in that way since the inception of android...
It is flipped in every other phone after ICS....
I like samsung way...

The non-Samsung way seems more natural IMO. I tend to think of the left as the back and the right as the front. Does that make any sense? Maybe it has something to do with me being right handed...

samsung sells more than any other oem. thus it makes others flipped compared to them (as standard)

Google's stock Android is the standard. Sales don't matter. Samsung's buttons are flipped.

Terrible list IMO. I will not be getting the device but these issues you have managed to "come up with" is a bad attempt. Jeesh

- you realize content is not yet optimized for the QHD right?
- Onscreen buttons can be configured to be hidden
- camera options can be COMPLETELY hidden, all of them
- seriously, we are now complaining about a screen being to bright

The camera issue was about certain camera options (some settings like resolution) not available on the G3 that were available on the G2.

If you had this phone for some time you would know that the screen is a pain in the ass. I've got G2, and I must always go for 80-100% brightness on sunny day to see something, and at night it is so bright it hurts my eyes. Deal with that G3 is not perfect

Tbh its a nice phone and all but i'm pretty fed up with on-screen buttons. Thats why iphone,s5 (prime) Note 4 and Nokia (if they come up with a good device in the next 4 months) is the only choice for me atm.. its sucks sh*t to have on-screen buttons.

The display is the biggest disadvantage of G3.

I thought display was the biggest attraction towards g3

Not for many people (including me). Yes, it is sharp and battery life and performance are not ruined, but it does affect them both while same time being bland and having mediocre brightness. It's a good display, but not great.

*battery life and performance is not affected. Wrong, gsmarena says my moto g has 9hr web browsing, but in reality it hardly gives me 4hrs on 3g, G3 has 6hr rating, imagine real life at 4g. And performance, i've seen the G3 stutter in youtube videos, also the gaming performance is likely to be below current flagships. G3 was a hastened unveiling IMO.

Go check out the reviews at stuff.tv, cnet, pc advisor, engadget, the verge, and others. They all mention how great the UI is, and every one of them other than cnet compliments how great the battery life is. There is no stutter in the devices that they reviewed. In fact, the only review of the G3 that i have seen that has mentioned sutter is here at Phone arena. Do your research before you bash.

You are right. Also the bits that droid life and android headlines have said don't mention these issue with the display or the performance. Also everyone, including MKBHD, has been talking well ahout the battery life, except for cnet.

Along with mediocre brightness, the poor blacks (or say grey) about 107 vs 0 of amoleds is the biggest disappointment of display.

It's both. But for me, it's mostly a disadvantage because the increased sharpness is practically unnoticeable...

Samsung is toyota. It's not perfect but damn it is userable. Samsung again, is the windows in the android world. It needs more power, it is not super smooth and responsive but it also gives you almost everything you need out of the box. Till most companies understand why sammy is king they can never dethrone the king. Sammy's strategy is totally the opposite of apple, give the people what they want or even more, give them what they can't even use and it works.

Samsung is the new Nokia and because Samsung is doing many other things than just cellphones, it can't get to same kind of sh*t as Nokia did.

Is it just me or this article is just favorable to the S5 not the G3?

Don't you get the proofs? G3 is not good in sunlight compare to s5. S5 has best display ATM followed by note 3. I think PA already did comparison of all flagship screen & s5 tops them all.

Yah of all the phones to compare... Its just the screen right? I think G3's screen was kinda rushed to production to let down its quality.

I am a user of G2. I love the phone, but I hate the artificial modification of the camera, which leads to all kinds of disgusting unnatural details when zooming in, and the super bluish display. I love my phone, but it will be my last LG phone. Good-bye LG!

So, what's the use of the so-called Quad display flaunt on G3 when texts are over-sharpened and outdoor visibility is poor? I have said it before: the best smartphone of the year is not yet born. And it will either be an iPhone 6 or Galaxy Note 4.

Except for the Note II in 2012. The S4 Pro in the Nexus 4/Optimus G/HTC Butterfly was much more powerful than the Exynos 4 Quad in the Note II. The only thing the Note II really had over those devices was battery life, but it was only because of the size difference.

Only a note can dethrone a note. Sammy only dethrones sammy period. Looking forward to a 5.5" iPhone as well. Will be nice to own both
