The US version of the HTC Legend available for those with money and style

The HTC Legend made some news last year with its aluminum-clad unibody, optical trackpad and inventive ways to take out the battery. The phone is still very cool, also literally, since its aluminum build is reported to keep the degrees down in the palm.

This pretty boy has appeared at Negri Electronics for the price of $498.50, and can be used with any US SIM card. For an unlocked device to operate on the 850/1900 MHz bands, it has a steep competition in the face of the Nexus One, since the Legend's hardware is pretty mid-range compared to Google's finest for almost the same price.

The Legend offer may have some chance with the fashion conscious crowd, but we don't expect a huge general interest, considering Americans are predominantly used to buying subsidized carrier handsets, attached to a contract.
