What's in a name? If you're Samsung, you probably want to escape the stigmatism around the Glyde, and what better way to do that then to redesign the device and give it a brand new name, such as the Rogue. We can't blame Samsung for doing this, since the original Glyde was prone to problems with it's capacitive touchscreen, and even forced a "refresh" model to take its place with a resistive touchscreen. Hopefully they've got all the bugs worked out this time around before it's (rumored) release sometime in August.

And of course, since it will probably have HTML browser or dashboard, prepaid customers will be told to get lost..

So is this one going to have a resistive or capacitive touchscreen?

I know everyone likes to give each other a hard time on this website. People here are usually more rude than kids in my high school were.

This looks like the OmniaPro... but dumbed down a bit....eh

That's usually what happens when you copy a CDMA phone from a GSM one. They get uglier, too. The only case I can think of where this didn't happen is when Verizon got the Omnia. Of course, that giant, ugly Verizon logo got slapped on...

Don't forget about the HTC Diamond for VZW. It had the GSM body also, just slightly thicker.

The glyde refresh was actually a good phone.... I dont think i saw one come back when i worked there.... samsung probably never escaped the reputation it had though...

Yeah I played with the newer one while waiting for someone to help me and I liked it, but the employees kept saying to customers 'You won't like it the touchscreen is not the best you might prefer the Dare or the Versa.'

12. souleater93 posted on 19 Jul 2009, 00:02

Looks like it has a smartphone interface.
