The Samsung OMNIA HD now captures video with AAC audio… in Italy
Samsung has stayed true to the promise the company made last month and released an update (called IG2) that allows users to capture HD videos with AAC coded audio tracks. Unfortunately, the patch doesn´t address the issue when it comes to taking clips at lower resolutions. We hope future updates fix this as well, because judging by the test videos uploaded on YouTube, sound quality has been significantly improved. The short video below makes for an illustrative example.

It´s just too bad that the update is only available to OMNIA HD handsets running the Italian version of the phone software. Aside from it, you would also need PC Studio 7 and keep in mind that the SIM card must remain switched on. Fingers crossed that an update for other software versions appears soon.
