The Nokia Lumia 520 is now the most searched Lumia model
Looking at the chart, you can see how people didn't wake up one day and decide to Google the Nokia Lumia 520. Instead, the phone started slowly and started to pick up momentum until it became the most searched Nokia Lumia handset. And the device has become successful and known for more than just being searched for on Google. According to data from mobile ad network AdDuplex, the Nokia Lumia 520 had 4.4% of the global Windows Phone 8 market in less than a month. Some of the models that were overtaken in market share by the Nokia Lumia 520 include the Nokia Lumia 720, Nokia Lumia 822, HTC 8S and the Nokia Lumia 900.
If the increasing number of searches for the Nokia Lumia 520 leads to sales, the entry-level Lumia model might soon find itself as the Finnish manufacturer's top selling phone. Consider how hot the Nokia Lumia 521 variant of the phone has been in the U.S. where it sold out on HSN, Walmart and on T-Mobile's pre-paid service. Nokia is obviously hitting the right buttons with the device.

Lol, I doubt that would be economically feasible for Nokia. Even the 520 is a surprise that it exists.

Nokia doesnt use the digit 4 in phone numbering since they left the 4-digit naming system. And, since there are ashas using the digit 5 already i dont think there will be a lumia 4XX or 3XX. Nokia doesnt screw their naming frequently unlike, say, HTC and Sony. They jumble up alphabets everywhere that i usually confuse their mid to low end phones in terms of price range and specs.

Makes sense. It's somewhat similar to the naming convention the German automakers like BMW, Audi, and MB go by. They never come up with names for their cars, but rather stick to series, to which numbers are assigned to differentiate models, like M5, S7, SL 65 AMG. This is just like the Lumia line, and that really adds that much needed premium factor, as opposed to having fancy names like Galaxy, Focus, Butterfly, Desire, Ace, etc. The iPhone is a different story, still, lol.

You should looks at its specs. Its mid range specs on affordable smartphone. Also it doesn't feel cheap when holding in hand
and you wont find any android model at this price with these kind of specs...

Yup I was really surprised when I saw this model. So beautiful for its price range I almost bought one.

Mid range specs??? A phone without led flash and autofocus... and a miserable 1430 mAh battery... and you call it mid-range? Please, look at the specs of the Huawei Y300, which is an entry-level android and yet is better than the 520 since the specs are similar but the Y300 adds flash, autofocus and 20% bigger battery, for a lower price. Come on, the 520 is just an entry-level phone and you can get comparable or better android phones for the same price or less. It's selling just because it's the cheapest WP handset available, so probably there are many people who think "it's cheap, let's give it a try". Good move to promote WP (Android did the same, concentrating on cheap handsets to gain market share over iOS), but it remains to be seen if those users will really switch in the future.

You're right at that price and with those specs it beats any other android phone within that category. But I'd rather wait till the platform is a bit established before trying it out (more apps).

wendygarett is cheap too; but not loved in the same way as the Nokia 520 ;o)

Clueless you are its been happening for years and they make the Lumia 520 look like a turd right now.
I got this for $320:
You can get the same phone with less storage for $250.

I own one. So far so good...
but the biggest drawback is that it doesnt have any music equalizer and music experience is worst
may be next update will add an equalizer and fm radio...
and for people who looking forward to buy this phone don't hesitate you wont find these specs in any other law end smartphone.
18. rahulz (Posts: 116; Member since: 25 Feb 2013)
I know every Lumia has an equalizer except L520 (i think)
its a basic feature i don't see any reason not to include it in. May be like i said, next update will bring it.

Much better phones running android that are cheap + the US carries and Samsung don't want you to know about.
Like this one:
lower end version with still very nice specs for the price:
You have been lied to and tricked by carriers/manufacturers and they are banking off you. Stop paying their ridiculous prices it is not worth it.

lmfao.... with trusted brands like "iocean" and "zoppo" how can you go wrong?? idiot.
These things have $20 mainborads and $10 micro-processors made by some obscure tech' company in Zhongguancun (China). They remind me of those $2 wrenches you get from the discount store.
While we're at it :
16. deacz (Posts: 145; Member since: 02 Nov 2011)
yea because a no name brand like iocean is soo much more reliable than Nokia. I would really like to see how the long term support or hell even the short term support is for a device like that.
21. boosook (Posts: 728; Member since: 19 Nov 2012)
I'd like to hear from all the WP fans who kept on saying that Android was the most widespread os only because people bougth entry-level phones...
24. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
i like to know why your kind love to point the finger at everyone else when your more of a fanboy then most
android had only one competitor and grew thanks to this, mid-high end are where android get sold as the entry level androids are pathetic. mid range arent much of a good experience. to get the most out of android you need a high end device which will one day be its undoing
to respond to your idiot comment in a way you can understand
i'd like to know why android fans swarm non android articles just to shove android down your throat, why are they so insecure

Most searched is good but will it lead to sales?
28. itsdeepak4u2000 (Posts: 1886; Member since: 03 Nov 2012)
Yes because its cheap, and if comes in dual sim then its sales will definitely get increased. WPs are faster than Android Phones.
