The Gionee Marathon M4 has a 5000 mAh battery, should be launched this month
Gionee this week unveiled a new Android smartphone called Marathon M4. This is the successor to last year's Gionee Marathon M3, and it looks like it's going to be available internationally, since Gionee is mentioning it on its global Facebook page.

Just like the M3, the Gionee Marathon M4 packs a massive 5000 mAh battery. According to Gionee, this can provide a talk time of up to 65 hours, and a standby time of up to 463 hours (that's a bit over 19 days).

Other confirmed features include LTE connectivity, and a metal body (which looks pretty thin). Some of the M4's unconfirmed features are a 5-inch 720p display, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, 5 MP front-facing camera, and an 8 MP rear camera.

The Gionee Marathon M4 should be released later this month, possibly for less than $300 (the M3 currently costs around $200). Interestingly, Gionee is getting ready to announce two other new smartphones next week: the E8 and the M5 (the latter featuring two batteries and a 5.5-inch 720p display). It's a busy time of the year for the company, isn't it?
