Cherry Mobile is a Philippine company that in the past sold a dual-core 4 inch Android model for $100, and a 5 inch phablet for $110. Now comes the Cherry Mobile Thunder which actually offers some decent specs for the price. Consider this, a 4.5 inch FWGA (480 x 854) screen with a pixel density of 218ppi (hey, we've seen worse!), a dual-core 1GHz MediaTek processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of native storage. The latter can be expanded with the use of the 32GB capacity microSD slot. The two cameras weigh in at 5MP and .3MP on back and front respectively.

The Cherry Mountain Thunder is just $125 USD

The device also features dual SIM cards which isn't unusual for this type of device. SIM card numero uno will support 3G/HSDPA will the second SIM card supports GPRS speeds. Calls and messages can be received on both, but only one SIM card can be active at a time. Running on Android 4.0, the phone is priced at 4,999 PhP or $125 USD. This unit will not blow out your budget, but neither will it give you some of the amenities that you might have grown accustomed to such as Gorilla Glass, a decently sized battery and 4G connectivity.

The Cherry Mobile Thunder is available exclusively from online retailer Lazada, and you can click on the sourcelink for more information.

Cool. but maybe we should not expect so much of this handset given the price range.

Specs won't blow you away, but ICS is smooth all around.

Few years back, I remembered Nokia's goal of giving the next billion people access to the internet with their mobile. I think Android will be the one to accomplish that mission. Fewer people are now using feature phones.

The world of technology is rapidly growing day by day. Bendable screens, cars with full touch screens, new display panels for smart phones, new machines in the medical field, etc. People from the 90's would have never guessed we'd be where we are today.

Still waiting for the hover cars though.

A 4 inch phone mentioned here is called "Flare" and has a decent performance. It's a rebranded phone from a9+. It could play games such as temple run 2, shadowgun and many more in a decent framerate.

Given that fact which has almost similar specs with this "thunder", I should say that this would perform well.

For $125 USD, that's not bad at all. Good looking phone for the price.

Oh Phonearena.. Please dont forget that this is just a rebranded unit of some other countries mobile phone manufacturer.. Currently Philippines isnt capable of making their own android phone yet, but maybe in the near future.. But yeah this is a great phone

Well, I heard this and the myPhone Flare are sold-out in Manila. Been planning to get these for my parents since December, been everywhere but so far no luck.

Flare was a rebranded karbonn a9+ from cherry mobile, but yeah, it's sold out. There are news that it only took minutes or few hours after its arrival on cherry mobile stalls, before they sold out.

im from the Philippines cherry mobile a company that produces average performance with a price of a low end the most of the phone's performance are quite snappy (for the price of it) pretty cheap without compromising too much!

they are really average and sometimes below average! they always release new phones every month and the support is low! there's too many line on CM kiosks not because they want to buy but for the service!

i prefer myphone or starmobile! they are better than CM!

do my phone and starmobile offers updates as well? the three of them are producing Tons of different models what im just saying that for the price of it.. its worth it comparing to what you can buy in leading phone manufacturers such, LG,Sony,Samsung i haven't personally use it but i was able to try it from a close friend and its average to above average considering the price..

actually, they do updates but still not OTA...

what im saying is CM has this "you get what you paid for"!! its not as durable compare to MP and SM! and the satisfactory that CM gets is really low while MP and SM are high!

but i dont know why a lot of people still but CM, maybe i guess they are really that cheap!

Purchased this phone yesterday. All is great considering the price I paid for it, very very very functional. Let's not forget that you get what you pay for, however for the CM Thunder you're getting a lot more... value for money is great. My only complaint is battery life. But, I've got a ton of applications already installed, been playing a few games on it, and all works well. Thumbs up. What would make this great great great is a better battery life.
