0. phoneArena 17 Aug 2011, 22:43 posted on

Some users of the HTC EVO 3D have been experiencing something called "The Black Screen of Death" on their device; nothing in the usual bag of tricks seems to bring back the handset to the land of the living and the handset suffering this affliction must be returned to Sprint...

You can't really compare a 3 year old phone to the HTC EVO 3D...

where are all the HTC fanboys? where is YARELL? I thought HTC build quality was the SH!T...well? HAHAHAHA I am laughing at you idiots that have been saying you don't want a phone from anybody else because HTC build is soooo great and that everything else is poorly made, that they are cheap, that they are not HTC standard...well? Guess you all just have to stare at your black dead screens! Good-luck trying to get a replacement for FREE.

Stuff like this happens guys...HTC, samsung, even Apple. Antenna gate? Overheating (for some people) on the 3GS? There will always be duds. Heck my Motorola Atrix when i had it had its front camera go out and both flash bulbs burned out within a week. Stop being stupid -.- and btw before you go labeling me as an HTC fanboy i am perfectly happy with my Samsung Focus, have never owned an HTC.

I cannot believe you guys took this article from that jackass Chavez on Phandroid. There's like 5 people out of a million phones reporting the problem.

Has there ever been a phone built that hasn't had some bad ones out of the bunch. Motorola currently has major problems with the Photon on Sprint and Droid 3 on Verizon. Don't get me started on Samsung and the radio issues. Even my beloved iPhone has had it's share of defective phones.

Point is, it's an operating system and all operating systems have malfunctions. I've used Apple OS and Android OS, both are great. I've been through my share of issues with both of them, but neither are perfect. It's impossible to make something perfect, let's be logical.

Still wouldn't trade in my 3D for anything. Had a couple minor issues, but HTC is pretty good at taking care of their problems. Best phone I ever had!

I had the same thing happen. After less than 3 weeks of use, this non- rooted phone would drop emails. The screen went black x 2 after the screen was unlocked. The day prior, my photo file had 536 copies of the Sprint logo that wasn't there the day before. The hardware is really nice, but there must be a software flaw. This was the second Evo 3 D. The first was DOA, with a pixellated screen on first power up. Both units were returned. It's a shame. I had high expectations for it.

I am form India, i bought that phone form UK- Sim free and from the first week without evan Root or any updated ,it started to hang, sudden -restarts, and after that without any reason it became dead.

I have tried many times but no luck, then i went to HTC service center, they told that might be a virus in SD card, now without internet, or evan no software installed how a virus can attack.

But the phone was in warranty so they repaired my phone, they told that some Hardware(Card) which costs same as $200 was crash and they added new one.

But now i am going to sell that phone. very horrible experience. with very expencive phone
