I picked fire as 1080p video isnt important on a tablet. Otherwise unless i needed more storage through is no reason to get the nook. About the book download think i am not to informed about that if the nook can download more books for a cheaper price it may be worth the 50 dollars.

ya but one thing pa didnt mention is that nooks are easily rooted to run other forms of android... i also like the style and the screen is better.. for 250 u get a dual core honeycomb tablet, that can switch in between honeycomb and the barnes and noble part... at least that is what the old one can do so i hope the dev community gets on it fast

With the Asus2 coming out.. the Asus transformer 1 will be dropping its price soon, so it will probably be near the same price (250-300, close enough). I'd get that over either of these little guys.

Lets not forget about cloud storage, so its not a big deal anymore to have that much native storage space. A big reason why people get tablet devices is for Web-Browsing, and b/c of that i believe Amazons Silk Browser will play a huge factor. Furthermore, allowing Amazon servers to retrieve large web content, putting it together and sending it to the Fire Tablet is nothing short of awesome. Customized UI.
*My vote goes for Kindle Fire (i also pre-ordered one)*

If you already subscribe to Amazon Prime, its an easy choice. Also from what I've seen the UI for the Fire looks a lot smother and much better designed. I always felt the UI on the Nook Color was awful. The app store on the Nook is crap- limited titles and everything seems to be more expensive than from the Google Marketplace or Amazon App Store.
On the other hand, If you are looking for something to hack, the Nook is the way to go with the improved specs.

Nook tablet. First, there is personal attention at the stores. Second the cloud is overrated since I am bandwidth constrained. Third, the Nook is a successful device showing BN has a good track record for tablets.

I already ordered the Fire. But the Nook gets points for being easy to root.
