In my country the economy goes down however every businessman secured his iPad purchase because he neeeeeeeeeeds it for serious work!

like playing angry birds?

Exactly. The point is that they allways have the excuse why they should have their iPad for their work because it's basically an empty slate and fetish object, so you can project on it any purpose you want, you just need the app for that, and that's no problem at all. So, iPad is allways winning, we have no choice but to want it. Perfect psychological manipulation by Apple, very effective even among most serious enterprise users...

i dont think any tablet can replace a laptop. this sounds like a joke.

I have an iPad and agree. It can't replace a laptop for work. Its great replacement for quick tasks. If we talking about serious work it does not easily replace a proper laptop or desktop imo.

Further, I think the iPad makes those quick tasks a lot more fun. It's a lot more fun to "touch" your e-mail than it is to use a physical keyboard. And let's not forget the endless amounts of mobile games.

I agree that the tablet does not replace a laptop. It is more like this:

smart phone < iPad < laptop < desktop

Then again, the iPad isn't necessarily greater than the smart phone. Obviously the smart phone makes phone calls and is much more mobile, but if you are talking in terms of computers, then my tiny diagram above stands true.

They sell the laptop for an iPad to realise afterwise that they just sold the sync counterpart. To remediate they buy an iTruck for carrying around the desktop pc in case a client is giving them a file stored in an usb key. As an alternative, with the iTruck they carry along an Apple store to equip the client with an iPad aswell so maybe he can transfer the file via bluetooth. Ops, can't use the iPad as a hard drive and can't handle files that aren't recognized by iTunes: bluetooth file sharing is locked anyway just in case. So the client returns home and sends the file via email with a desktop pc: alas, the enterprise user can't open the email attachment, the file is compressed...

Could probably be a tactical move from the aliens: remove all desktop pcs, laptops and replace them with iPads; while people are wandering around looking for a way to sync them and share files, they conquer the earth.

Ipad cant replace a pc. No one is argueing with that fact.i own a pc and an ipad 2 and i av come to realise that ever since i got my ipad i dont use my pc anymore. It does all the little things i use my pc for and does it smarter than simplier.i only sync my music collections to it once and ever since i hve not been near my pc. Its a nice device n i hope evryone gets to own one to see how cool it is.

Yea, I doubt any tablet can replace a laptop. I wouldn't mind trying it out. My transformer prime is great but I still like to use my macbook for emails, surfing the web etc.
