Pleeeeeease let this be true. My NE2 was up last March. I waited to find out that the Omnia II was a piece of crap by the time it came out, I was psyched for the Droid until the Passion, etc. rumors started up, and I have had my heart set on this since the day I heard about it. I am sucking it up with an LG VX8700 right now and cannot wait to move to a great smartphone. I played with a Nexus One that my friend has, and it sounds like this is going to be better, minus the second mic but plus being able to deal with a Verizon store and having Sense. If I can get my hands on this by month's end I will be giddy.

I wouldn't wait for the Nexus if the Incredible comes out first. I thought about getting the Nexus, but after all the bad press about 3G radio issues and the screen cracking, I am aiming for the Incredible. The Sense UI is really nice, and a 8mp camera is awesome, I just hope the battery life holds up better than some of the current HTC models.

This freakin industry is crazy !!! I wish there wasnt such a thing as a contract or id buy all of these phones!! i have a droid now but this thing sounds like its going to be able to chew the droid up and spit it out... no qwerty though... but small price to pay for such a beast! cant wait to check it out !

You don't need a contract. Just buy it at the retail price if you want it so bad. I am waiting to renew my contract so I get it for 199.99 like most phones here in the US, rather that $600.00.

lol so your telling me to drop 600 dollars on a phone .. ? right.. you just said yourself your waiting to get it with your renew as well.. so what about your comment makes mine wrong.. when your doing the same thing I am .. waiting... lmao...

Without a contract, your phones would cost $600. The reason you're paying only a fraction of that is because by signing a contract, Verizon and every other carrier can subsidize the equipment to make up for the loss they take on the phone. That's guaranteed revenue that the carrier can use to make up for that loss, whether it be over time or all at once by the ETF.

If you are afraid of contracts buy it retail. I personally could care less about the contract b/c I don't think I will leave vzw anytime soon, and if I do it will be becuase I move out of country or move to an area without vzw service, so I could just disco for free at that time.... basicallly a contract is meaningless if you can just get out of it when you really need to. I don't understand why people are so afraid of them. We could be like EU where everyone pays 400+ for their phones, which is the way it should be. Then companies would stop forcing dat plans and messaghe plans to make up lost revenue. Buy the phone you want first, then choose your carrier. That's how I think it should be.... Can you imagine if you could only buy a sony TV if you had comcast or a samsung or LG if you had direct TV? the idea is rediculous and I think exclusivity on phones is slowing the progress of the industry.

I completley agree with you the only reason why i said i wish there was no contracts because i could buy as many phones as i wanted to and just stick with vzw. most people would never leave vzw for service, i myself would stay as well and i hope someday the industry does change to the EU outlook so we as the consumer has a right to buy whatever phone we want. I wish the government would step in and fix this rule.. althought.. all major cell phone distributers would have to make different versions of their phones as well i e apple , htc sony ericson etc. they would have to by law make a phone for each carrier so there would be different versions of the same phone being sold.. could get messy at times.. but ultimatley i say there should be some legislation or rule that will allow me to choose whatever SERVICE i want to put on MY phone not the other way around. this country is so back asswords sometimes.

I would wait for this over the N1 since the N1 is having some bad experiences like the screen being made out of crap...

the thing stays in my purse so its well taken care of i dont have bulky things in there and i live at the jersey shore you show my a dead spot at the jersey shore for any of the top 4 carriers. so before you open your mouth dont assume i live in the sticks. and im dumb to stay with a company that gave my brother a droid for free when his rouge was messed up?????? all i wanted was a new phone or another " feature phone" and they cant even do that f them!!!!!! switching to tmobile and gettin a my touch 3g or n1

Is this why the Eris hasn't gotten a software update to 2.0 yet? they'd rather come out with a replacement handset instead of updating the current one? Well, at least this is confirmation that HTC has upgraded Sense UI to work on android 2.1, so there's no excuse for them not to push out an Eris update some time soon. Come on guys, don't punish the early adopters. I want my Google Maps Navigation!
