Drunk driving has been replaced and texting while driving is now the leading cause of teen death in the U.S. as a study conducted by the Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York shows that more than 3,000 teens die each year as a result of sending SMS messages while operating a vehicle; that figures compares to the 2,700 tens that are killed each year as a result of drunk driving, a figure reported Thursday by CBS News...

Tweeting you are driving home is so not worth flipping your car over and putting other people in danger.

See!!! Big phones do have a benefit. It's freaking impossible to do anything with one hand when you own a Note 2.

calling or texting while driving is dangerous,

Developers makes apps to make texting or calling easier while driving via voice commands...which i think adds up to the same result- distraction.
Why not make an app that shuts the whole phone down while the user is in the car itself (no compromises)? I know it means sacrificing some important calls but they can make some few particular numbers that can bypass the off mode. Should be safe i presume.

First off I am not saying texting and driving is ok but I always wonder why they have to misrepresent the facts. In the same article that says texting and driving is the leading cause this line is pretty interesting.

CBS News Article - Study shows disturbing reality of texting while driving
"The survey alarmed the research team because of evidence that distracted driving - including texting - is now the leading single cause of teenage fatalities."

So the research team is talking about distracted driving but for the rest of that article and all the other articles quoting that study attribute that entire number to texting while driving.

i think car manufacturers should make cars so that they block signal when the car is on or is moving
that would be a great idea

That would be peror one several issues. One self entitled people that don't give a Foxtrot Delta would not like it. Also jammers are illegal and can only be used by FED or MIL GOV. Even if they authorized the usage, people would shout 1984 by George Orwell...

Dont you think that people should be more responsible while operating vehicles? car manufacturers have nothing to do with it :P

It's not only teenagers that do that. I have seen adults, police officers, state police, and such SMS when operating a light or heavy vehicle.
