Tethered jailbreak arrives early for iOS 6
iOS 6 might have been released just days ago, but a tethered jailbreak is already available thanks to the almighty Dev-Team and their Redsn0w creation. The jailbreak however doesn’t work with the latest iPhone 4S, and only with the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 4th gen.

“redsn0w tethered iOS6 jailbreak for 3GS and A4 devicesis.gd/MCbq7A (developers ONLY please! .. no Cydia, just SSH+afc2),” MuscleNerd tweeted today.

As mentioned in the tweet, Cydia is not included and the reason for this is that the third-party app store is not yet coded for the newest version of iOS.

Otherwise the installation process is fairly standard if you’ve jailbroken already. You have to downloda the iPhone Deve Team redsn0w tool and the iOS 6 Beta IPSW firmware file from Apple. From there on, you mount the IPSW file, and let the tool do its magic.

You should always be careful when jailbreaking your device, and even more so when jailbreaking a beta. This will definitely raise your geek status, but will only confuse your mom or girlfriend, so there you have it, a word of warning.

Hit the source link below for the detailed instructions on jailbreaking iOS 6 on iPhone 4, 3GS or 4th gen iPod touch.

The Developers Beta has been released so that they can make/adapt their apps for it.

Too little...too late.

It's jailbroken until iOS offically rolls out. I'm sure that by then Apple would've heard about this, changed whatever would be needed to be changed to keep it from being jailbroken, and will try to make it more difficult to jailbreak.

eh unteathered jailbreaks come out either the day the os comes out or the day after... they are not extremely hard-- making the untethered one is what takes forever...

I wouldn't worry about that, ios is made by humans, not 'asgardians'

Scary how they jailbroke so fast. Wasn't iOS unpenetrable?
