Why not ask how to improve their own product instead of trying to put down the big dog? Microsoft's "we're as good as Google" ads are kind of annoying. Make a product people want instead of making people not want the competition.

The worst thing that ever happened to me was Airpush ads by some apps. Malwares? None so far, not sure if Lookout is working well or it's just not detecting any. As long as you're clever on choosing apps in Play Store, this shouldn't be a problem.

Been using android for the past two years straight without any Anti-Virus programs... Never seen one... Plugging the phone it into a system and all the crap starts to get into the phone...

Android is clean OS. Don't give permission to install malware. I mean do not install rogue apps.

Instead of trying to drag down the top dog, MS should think of improving their own and make it more competitive. The platform has surely evolved a lot with WP8, but it still has a long way to go.

I'd rather advise them to start a trend asking users what features THEY want in the next version of WP, rather than attacking Android which is nothing but time pass IMO; in a place dominated by trolls called internet, who is going to check the authenticity of the claims made anyway?

Its been almost three years I've been using android (HTC desire, Galaxy S3, now own galaxy note 2), never came across any malware. Just in case you are concerned, keep a check on the system permissions any new app asks for before installing it, and you should be fine.

I will say this, I have been infected waaaay less with no security on Android vs no security on a Windows desktop OS.

I have yet to install any security on my Android phones, starting with the Droid 1 in Mar 2010.

I wouldnt dare go no security on a desktop PC.

Yes. I once witnessed a device infested with hundreds of bits of malware. Trojan horses, spyware, the whole deal.

Oh wait. That was a Windows PC.

Bottom line: Don't worry about the mythical Android malware "epidemic," when we've had a substantially more powerful PC malware issue for many years.
