Target's upcoming promo can get customers a free iPhone 4S by trading in a working iPhone 4
Starting this Sunday, February 26th, the big box retailer is turning the on switch to its new limited-time offer with iPhone trade-ins. Specifically, customers can trade in their older iPhones and receive up to $200 in trade-in credit, which can then be turned around and used on any Target purchase – thus, allowing them to get in with a 16GB iPhones 4S for free. However, the trade-in values will vary depending on the condition and model, so therefore, if you’re iPhone 4 is banged up pretty bad, don’t expect to get the full $200 out of it. Specifically, the trade-in offers include the following:
- $200 for any iPhone 4
- $150 for any iPhone 3Gs
- $100 for any iPhone 3G
If you’re still on the fence about it all, just be aware that this promotion is running from February 26th to March 3rd – meaning, you’ll need to make a decision quickly about it. As usual, you’ll need to sign a 2-year contract when picking out your new iPhone 4S model. So don’t live one day more with that old iPhone, seeing that you can get top dollar for it and make the switch to the latest one without forking over too much cash.

considering you could sell an IP4 for the same if not more as a 4S on contract on craigslist, its not that good a deal

Can you do this at any time in your contract or just if it's time to upgrade?

Well if you still are on contract with your 4, I would assume that you would probably have to pay an ETF to get out of your current contract
