Target's latest circular included a special deal for those purchasing certain models of the Apple iPhone , Apple iPad and Apple iPod touch; buy the 16GB Apple iPhone 5, already on sale for $149.99 with a signed two-year pact, and get a $25 Target gift card. According to the ad, if you trade in your old handset the retailer will throw in some more money on the gift card...

Certainly not enough of a rebate to warrant a new or extended 2-yr contract especially with these fruity pickings. I'd rather have a house fall on me (just a thought) 'D

The new iPod Touch for $229 doesn't have the 5MP camera/camcorder in the rear.
Also, the 5th generation iPod Touch's aren't selling as well as the 4th generation model. It's hard to justified an enhanced MP3 player with wifi capabilities for that price when you can get an used android smartphone for much less.
If you look at 6-month-old or even 1-year-old android smartphones with decent spec's are much better value propositions.

that is true,I actually work for target mobile, what the deal is trade in any phone and get an extra 25 dollars towards the price of an iphone. Right now target mobile has the iphone 5 for 149.99 and the iphone 4s on sale for 49.99. We also have the sprint htc one on sale for 99.99, The samsung galaxy s4 for verizon for 149.99. Also we have verizon and at&t galaxy s3's for 49.99 all with two year contracts and data plans
