0. phoneArena posted on 04 Dec 2012, 09:12

Battery life tests are tricky business. They are more complicated than they seem and they take up a lot of time. That’s why this comparison…

Great for Apple..

3 things
perfomance and graphics( beats other tablets in benchmarks easily)
battery life with perfomance
premium built quality
what more do u want in a tab ? lags ?lol

Actually I'd depends on the user, it seems PA got better battery life out of the nexus 10 than the iPad

http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/Google-Nexus-10-vs-Apple-iPad-4_id3197/page/4

"Battery:

Who knows what it’s all attributed to, whether it’s the optimizations found with the dual-core Exynos processor or Android 4.1 Jelly Bean experience, but the Nexus 10 delivers the better battery results. So much so that we’re able to get close to two whole days of normal usage on a single charge – versus the average one-day put out by the iPad 4."

23. loyals posted on 04 Dec 2012, 13:32 2

it was clearly mention *NORMAL USAGE vs AVERAGE USAGE * which means they fully didnt test it and the results are in this article . u must clearly understand what they were trying to say . ipads own it , ipad gave better results on what they were expecting ..almost 30-40 more life than others with better permance than others . is it not enough , wat more do u want ?? lags?? . oh wait ipads users dont know wat that is may b u should ask some android boys with BIG SPECS ^;^without optimisation

24. protozeloz posted on 04 Dec 2012, 15:34 2 1

I think you have an issue there, I can see your argument is about "lag" sorry but I own a nexus 7 and iPad 2 (comparable with iPad mini) and iPad 2 lags, specially with iOS6 updates nexus 7 is a clear winner. My android device still have Lots of things I prefer and you probably jealous of.

All I see here is a fanboy short in arguments to prove something no one even asked for

27. parkwaydr posted on 04 Dec 2012, 18:18 2

Don't worry proto, logic can't be used.

29. loyals posted on 04 Dec 2012, 20:04 2

didnt u see difference in resolution and perfomance while using same apps bro ?? ipad has exclusive apps for its resolution .....more like 250000....i dont think android has anywer near that...may be "percentage" in SINGLE DIGIT

31. protozeloz posted on 04 Dec 2012, 21:22 2

Asked John V personally about it, and he would still prefer the nexus 10 and its "non optimized apps" you just jealous also I've seen videos on YouTube saying the devices are almost tied

30. nnaatthhaannx2 posted on 04 Dec 2012, 20:55 2

I agree.
Apple does make better tablets (although I find them useless).

2. ogy_dogy posted on 04 Dec 2012, 09:34 3 2

Aww, first world problems... -.-

3. sid07desai posted on 04 Dec 2012, 09:34 5

so maybe a couple more hours without charging but a normal user wouldn't recognize the difference as most people use tablets at their homes where they are under charging most of the times.

4. androidornothing posted on 04 Dec 2012, 09:35 4 11

Well obviously if android was a 5x4 grid icon my nexus 10 would last me 1200 minutes. But "sadly" Android has a lot more sexy things going on. And by the way I get about 2-3 days with my nexus 10 from full charge.

9. OHaZZaR posted on 04 Dec 2012, 09:55 9

That's battery life over web-surfing, not staring at a home-screen.

14. valapsp posted on 04 Dec 2012, 10:50 5

Man look at his name. It's AndroidOrNothing
So no smell of logic here. :)

33. OHaZZaR posted on 05 Dec 2012, 06:11

Good call :P

11. loyals posted on 04 Dec 2012, 10:00 4 1

the hardware n software integration is core in "i" divices bro. nothin cant beat them in perfomance , graphics and battery life not to mention the built quality. its just the price !

22. Whateverman posted on 04 Dec 2012, 13:19

I would agree that when it comes to iDevice performance, Apple is always tough to beat. The excuses don't help Android at all. Android devices always seem to match what Apple is currently doing instead of anticipating and exceeding what they will do next. The gs3 and Note 2 seem to be the only devices that have achieved that seemingly impossible goal of outflanking the iPhone 5, but that's about it. The only real problem I see with idevices are the lack of features and the small screens. I think Apple would be unstoppable if they used more added more customization and features and not lock their OS down so much. And would it kill them to throw in an SD card slot? IDevices seem to lag once they have been loaded with books, movies and music.

Well obviously ur making excuses cuz ur beloved android lost. Suck it up soldier lmao.

Nevermind, I'm satisfied my nexus 7 lol

Not good news for the Surface Pro though. Hopefully they can fix this in later iterations but from what I've read, the chips required to bring the full desktop version are causing a much bigger drain on the batteries.

7. thelegend6657 posted on 04 Dec 2012, 09:54 2

If I buy the surface pro I will use it as a laptop replacement .
At least the battery life is better than my laptop .
I think the Surface pro should be compared to computer instead of tabs because the internals are real computer stuff

12. Aeires (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2012, 10:07 2

Agreed, but because it will come in tablet form, most people will still look at it like it's a tablet regardless of it being a more compact computer.

20. valapsp posted on 04 Dec 2012, 11:15

I really love the Surface Pro but the only thing is that it only has 4 hours of battery life.

8. Pedro0x posted on 04 Dec 2012, 09:55 4

Slap a good optimized ROM on a android tablet and it can hold out twice as long

13. valapsp posted on 04 Dec 2012, 10:46 3

Android 4.2 ruined the Nexus 7. Causing quick battery drains, poor WiFi signal, Bluetooth problems ...

Agree?

17. protozeloz posted on 04 Dec 2012, 11:03

I have it on my nexus 7 And I get around the same time I used to 10+ hours on a single charge and 15% remaining only issue so far is slower charge, u don't use Bluetooth, its a bit dated for me but WiFi is as strong as always try a factory reset and see if that fixes it

19. valapsp posted on 04 Dec 2012, 11:06

Strange. But about slower charge time u're right.

21. Aeires (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2012, 11:17 1

Disagree, mine runs about the same. As for charging time, it's always been slow, but when you factor in how long the battery lasts, it's not a problem.

16. DerryAhmad posted on 04 Dec 2012, 11:00

Wish the test also included Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. It's one of Android tablets that has the longest battery life (12 hours of browsing on Honeycomb). Plus, the iPad Mini look pretty similar to it. But overall.. God job, apple!. IOS devices are known for it's great battery life.

25. MC1123 posted on 04 Dec 2012, 17:45

you cannot really deny that apple's battery life works as it is and longer!

34. jackapple29 posted on 10 Dec 2012, 02:27

I use my Ipad Mini (Ipad 2 before my recent upgrade) and while my normal usage is slightly lower with my mini then my ipad 2, I have also used an android tablet for work doing the same job and have seen little reason to swap over to the android market. Ever since I swapped over to Apple from the android market I can bring my work home with me on my ipad mini and seamlessly move it over to my Mac or mirror it to my apple T.V. So aside from a better battery life functionality is and ease of use is way better. I also recently played around with the microcraps windows 8 tablet and no surprise that they have not enhanced their taste in quality. (U.S. Military and part time student going towards my Software Engineering degree) If you find yourselves offended, I would apologize but I don't care!!!

35. Zeeez posted on 03 Jan 2013, 16:18

People just suck this stuff up. In my searching I find many different scores and some are just looping vid with wifi and the scores are so much different. I am sure the OS has allot to play in all this like on my mini alone.. I am thinking it has some bug in wifi for it drains fast and so far everyone I have tried. Asus TF700.. looping vid wifi just over 9h easy. Now I guess surfing for 9h also would make a difference but.. I did MY real world..

You get an idea here no more no less and still dont go by what others say not even me. If you like the product make sure you can return it 1st and go buy it your self. The review might have said it was bad yet you just loved it.

Keep looking up JC
