Tablet app revenue could pass smartphones by 2018

The smartphone market obviously has something of a jump on tablets. Smartphones have been something of a natural evolution from feature phones, but tablets are a much more "new" segment of products. But, at least as far as app revenue is concerned, at least one analyst believes that we'll see tablets surpassing smartphones by 2018...

There are many apps that have much more sense on a phone than on tablet, and vice versa.
But overall I think this has some point to it IF they put the 5.5'' + devices into a tablet category

I am not so sure I agree, if it is just apps. Do books, movies, magazine and other media revenue count as app purchases?
For me, my phone is a 24/7 device and my tablet a couch-time luxury.
