"Battle"??? There is no such thing as competition in Canada (at least for telecommunications). There's even rumors about Bell and Telus merging... Rogers, Bell, and Telus are dominating in canada and they pretty much do the same thing. Don't be surprised to see rogers doing the same thing by giving $25 gift cards to people that buy htc one. They increase the prices the same, add the same features, and have the same types of phones. Not one of them want to reduce the price or compete because they want to milk money out of canadians. If an underdog tries to compete, Roger, Bell or telus just buys the company. (mobilicity comes into mind). If not, those underdogs still have to pay the big boys (rogers, bell, telus) over patents, antennas or other any other bills. This is what happens when a company monopolizes a country.

You can say that those big three are similar to AT&T and Verizon in USA (I dare to say that those three are even worse).
