T-Mobile's BlackBerry Priv is now receiving Android 6.0 update; price cut to $374.99 by Newegg
Owners of the T-Mobile branded BlackBerry Priv might be happy to learn that the Android 6.0 update is now rolling out to the device. With the update, owners of the slider will be able to extend their battery life with Doze. This is the feature that puts an Android phone into a deep sleep state after the device has been left alone for some time. Apps are shutdown in the background. The result is an increase in stand-by time and an ultimate increase in battery life.

Also included with the update is Google Now On Tap. This provides contextual search results based on what is on the screen at the time the feature is employed. With Android 6.0, users can give permission to apps on a feature-by-feature basis. And adaptable storage allows them to "add" their microSD card to the permanent storage on the phone.

In addition to the Android 6.0 update, T-Mobile subscribers with the Priv will receive performance and stability updates. Before starting the actual updating process, Priv owners should make sure that they are connected to a Wi-Fi network. The battery needs to be charged up to at least 50%. Because the update is being sent OTA, it might take a few days before a Priv user finds the update on his or her phone.

Also, you might be interested in knowing that Newegg is selling the unlocked version of the Priv for just $374.99. That undercuts Amazon's latest price by $20. Despite a $50 price cut to $649 by BlackBerry, Newegg's price totally demolishes the manufacturer's own price by 42%.
