T-Mobile variant of HTC One X said to have quad-core and stock Android 4.0

0. phoneArena 29 Feb 2012, 21:38 posted on

With a version of the HTC One X going to AT&T and one supposedly heading to Sprint, speculation is that T-Mobile will be adding a version of its own and unlike AT&T, this model will be equipped with the quad-core Tegra 3 processor and will have no sense, Sense 4.0 that is...

It's going to be a G device, like the T-Mo G1, G2, and G2x. T-Mo always has stock android on those

T-Mobile G4! I can bet that will be the name.

Those two qualities are what will probably throw the GNex into the bin...

You are probably an HTC fanboy....FYI, the Galaxy Nexus is Android's flagship phone. Meaning, the Gnexus will always be the first phone to receive software updates and always be the best phone with the best software development support. So while us, Gnexus owners, will be getting the Jellybean update, all you others will be killing yourselves and think "why in the hell didn't I get a Gnexus."

T-Mobile is very smart to go with this, those who want stock android get it, with maximized compatibility with international devices so people who like sense can get Sense, and all the other common ROM varieties are still available.

Is Tegra 3 better than Snapdragon S4?
Earlier news T-mobile will implement LTE network but Tegra 3 isn't compatible with LTE.
How will that work out?

Both the S4 and the Tegra 3 at this point in time are very comparable in capacity and ability, both are awesome chips. T-Mobile's LTE network doesn't go live until next year so this year's htc One X will work perfect on the HSPA+ 42 network w/ the Tegra 3. G4X here we come!

Dont compare a dual core with a quad core processor. S4 is only popular because qualcomm managed to put the radio on the s4 chip instead of having to chips in your phone... Now you only have one. But its a dual core and doesnt compare to a quad core. I wouldnt be surprised if this s4 chip lags connectivity.

Do you know how a processor works? I dont think so. The S4 has benchmarked higher than the Tegra in everything and is just barely as good as it in GPU performance.http://www.androidauthority.com/a-preview-of-the-krait-based-s4-vs-tegra-3-and-exynos-4210-55639/
read the scores. The T3 might be a quad core, but the S4 processes much faster. 3.3 DMIPS/Mhz compared to the Tegra 3′s 2.5 DMIPS/Mhz.

If the S4 is faster... then darn shxt happens again!
AT&T version of Galaxy S2 has better CPU than T-Mobile version.

S4 is better. Don't you see Anandtech's benchmarks? in Linpack-Dual core s4 at 1.5 GHz scored 218 whereas Asus Transformer Prime with T3 scored 158

Dont call ppl names... Have some respect.

Ive seen all the benchmarks out there... U dnt need to give me a link. Thx tho. And in my opinion tegra 3 is more powerfull than the s4.

That cant be an opinion. Based on facts the S4 is better. That's like me saying "In my opinion the Toyota Camry is faster than a Lancer Evolution X" You cant put your opinion to something like that

Anandtech changed the results on the HTC ONES page keep in mind each processor is different in different devices.
Even they stated it:
"results were taken using GLBenchmark's offscreen test which disables vsync and runs the benchmark at 1280 x 720, the graph below is run at each device's native screen resolution. For the HTC One X that works out to be 1280 x 720 (921K pixels) and for the HTC One S that is (518K pixels). Keep that difference in mind as the One X does have more (around 77%) pixels than the One S." and "NVIDIA continues to have the advantage in GLBenchmark,"

Also those test where on the one s(s4krait) and one x(tegra). When the s4 gets tested on the higher pixel screen on the one x like the att one, its gonna be crap.

here u go if u wanna read it urself:http:

The performance of a multi-core SOC is not strictly proportional to the number of cores. Qualcomm spent the R&D money to optimize the implementation of the ARM cores over the past many years. Nvidia took the short-cut and used the somewhat stock version of the Cortex9 cores. Because Qualcomm has more money in the bank, it can afford a lot of R&D while Nvidia was steering the ship half-way in its route. The benchmark results so far do not show conclusively which one has better overall performance. Even on graphics, Nvidia no longer excels in all the benchmarks. There are indeed better graphics from ARM, Imagination, AMD/ATI, and ...

Kind of disappointed that At&t is gonna have the HTC XL instead of HTC X... (I am on At&t) But I think the S4 performance should still be close to T3 or not better. Let's be honest, if both headsets' process time are off by about 0.05 second. None of us is gonna be able to tell. Let's all wait for both HTC X & XL to come out to compare them. Otherwise, we are just arguing both handsets base on the spec along.

I wouldn't be disappointed in the least both the S4 and Tegra 3 are amazing chipsets I'd be proud to have in my device.

Yeah, that's very true. Compare to my Atrix 4G, HTC XL will be a huge upgrade for me. I am very excited for it still though. I love my smartphone but I am not a very heavy user. This phone would be amazing for me, but kind of wish the battery is bigger.

HTC XL is the exact same phone as the X just with S4 and LTE. You say it will perform better so why are you disappointed? XL is to X as Skyrocket is to Galaxy S II.
