T-Mobile remains the one major U.S. carrier without the Apple iPhone and has had to watch even pre-paid carriers get the device; multiple sources are spreading the word that unlocked models of Apple's smartphone will be on display at T-Mobile stores, hooked up to the carrier's 3G network...

No. Some of us don't "look forward" to seeing a celebrity with their clothes off because we have partners of our own.
Not saying I'd complain about seeing Carly naked, but I don't have a single minded drive to.

As long as T-Mobile never officially offers the iphone, I'll be a satisfied T-Mobile customer. Just converted my Value plan to the everything Unlimited today. Saved me $45 per month for my 5 lines

Actually, even if Box isn't aware of it, his plan conversion may have a lot to do with the iPhone.
Historically, when the iPhone comes to a carrier, the carrier deep sixes customer benefits to make up for the relatively astronomical cost of subsidizing the Jesus phone. T-Mobile would possibly have to screw its customers over as well, especially since they don't have a huge customer base to spread the cost over.

There is no such thing as a Jesus phone. I like that Apple dictates the prices to subsidize the iPhone. That way people who have the iPhone aren't screwed by carriers since Apple handles updates, not the carriers.

Sure, of course you're fine with Apple getting paid 40 percent more to get the cost of an iPhone down to 200 dollars than, say, HTC is for their Evo LTE to be the same price or lower.

You want have to worry about the iphone getting bloatware pushed on it. The recent article about Verizon preloading a full page of Amazon apps on their phones doesn't help.
Someone needs to grab the carriers by their balls and show them that they can't push all oems around.

I like Amazon. I have their apps on my phone anyway.
The carriers, minus Verizon, have been getting better at bloat. I can uninstall all the bloat on my AT&T phones. Two seconds, done.

Liking Amazon is not the same as being forced to have it on your phone preloaded with many other apps.
I said before that Apple has it right because they control the environment on their phones which is why they remain bloat free.

it doesn't have anything to do with the iphone as far as I am directly away, but I am glad that T-Mobile is offering unlimited data with no throttling again, thus my statement about the conversion to the different plan

Their unlimited data is a step in the right direction, however they drastically need more coverage. T-Mobile has 1/2 the coverage of Cricket in my area! They have great devices (although having the iPhone helps) with great plans it just doesn't work here.

if you hadn't heard they're refarming their HSPA network onto the PCS bands, same bands Att uses for HSPA hence the iPhone and many many other phones will now be available at faster speeds on T-Mobile very soon.

I have T-Mobile and I hate them. I had trouble with my phone 4 days after the warranty expired. Their solution was "Buy a new phone." So I am cancelling both lines for $200 each and switching to Verizon. C'est la vie!

I got just as frustrated with verizon here recently. I'm leaving them. Don't expect anything except possibly better coverage and much higher bills.
From people that have had both carriers, I've heard that vzw is much, much worse to deal with than tmo.
I'll probs head to att. i guess. maybe a prepaid carrier that uses att or vzw's network...

sooo.. your problem isnt with Tmobile then, its with YOU not getting insurance to give it a lifetime warranty.
Do people still think that the carrier manufactures the phone? Do they not see that big "samsung" "HTC", whatever logo on the phone?
"waaaah waaaah.. my phone was out of warranty and they refused to give me an new one for free, even though I was too cheap to get the insurance.. so I'm going to leave them and go to a carrier thats 50% more expensive and has the same policies to spite Tmobile! That will show them!"

So you broke contract, because you were too cheap to pay for insurance (7.99 per device)? If one's warranty expires one is s**t out of luck. I don't get how one can use smartphones or phones without insurance? If you can't afford 7.99 a month then you really might want to consider not having a wireless phone.
Anyway at 400USD and switching to Verizon, that is a retarded financial move. When you forked over 400USD to breach t-mobiles contract, jumping ship to Verizon. How much are you paying for your two new phones? How about prorated usage added on top of that and any, activation fees? With the price you are paying you could have bought a new phone and paid for insurance and have money in your bank....

I have T-Mobile and don't have any issues with them. That said, some (not all) of their reps on the phone aren't the most helpful or knowledgeable (or don't seem that interested in helping), but they tend to be in the billing department, and most reps with any company seem to be unpleasant and unhelpful when it comes to billing. You'd think you'd want that department staffed with very friendly people since it involves, y'know, MONEY
