T-Mobile has released the Samsung t659, so much for the Scarlet codename

Last time we posted about the Samsung t659 for T-Mobile we informed you that it should be expected to come out in early September. This rumor has turned out true, as the nation’s fourth-largest carrier is now offering the slider, at a price of $69.99 with a two-year service agreement and after $50 mail-in rebate. We are a little sorry its codename Scarlet didn’t make it to prime time but still, it doesn’t really reflect the t659’s appearance. Coming with a fairly affordable price tag, the Samsung t659 doesn’t pack any groundbreaking specs, but it will still provide you with a decent set of features, including high-speed 3G connectivity within T-Mobile USA’s network, 2-megapixel camera, Stereo Bluetooth, microSD slot and GPS.

I can't understand why this phone is priced at $70. Two or three years ago, maybe.
