T-Mobile giving Las Vegas and Seattle residents a 7-day trial of its 4G network

0. phoneArena 29 Jan 2013, 11:39 posted on

If you're a resident of Las Vegas or Seattle and have an unlocked smartphone, T-Mobile is willing to give you a seven day trial to check out the speed on its 4G pipelines; the offer is good through February 11th, but since it requires an unlocked handset, the carrier could be asking you to break the law unless you already have a model that is unlocked...

There coverage really has improved here. Although im using wifi calling indoors right now for best coverage. (love that theres that option) . I always seem to end up back with Tmobile in some way lol guess there my carrier, & ive had everybody. Thought I was all set with windowsphone but I think the Optimus L9 is the best Android ive used & an underrated device! Lg got it right for once lol. On tmobiles monthly 4g makes it all the better! I tried an unlocked alcatel got off ebay too regarding this article that doesnt have aws 1700 & it pretty much worked flawlessy on Hspa+ which is faster then Sprint's current "4g" . Sprint is the worst at data speeds overall.

Agreed! T-Mobile has came a long way. When compared to the other carriers in major city's, I haven't found any difference in service, but the monthly price. I keep on reading people's comments on how much they hate T-Mobile and instead of talking about it they should do something about it and change carriers . And if they were smart they would've done it within the trial period. but enough of that, I'm sure once LTE launches the majority of people who aren't getting LTE with Sprint will probably switch, and for those who lives in major cities who wants unlimited data are probably going to switch to T-Mobile as well.

Tmobile is the best, $70 for unlimited everything no contract no limits/throttling on 4g data.

Verizon/Att might be faster in most cities but there overpirced I would rather have unlmited at 3g than 4g lte att at 2gb for $30 a month....

How fast is an average T-Mobile HSPA connection? I only know a few people with TMO and they said it's usually around 4mbps.

Sprint is upgrading all of their networks though. They just turned on LTE in my market and with only a few towers as the market has not officially launched I am getting 12 - 28 mbps. 3G has improved too, upgraded towers will give you anywhere between 1.2 - 2.4 mbps on 3G, which generally is more than enough for a cell phone / mobile connection, even streaming 1080p video.

Even 4G WiMAX in my market consistently gets 6-12mbps, the only problem is the coverage is spotty because they stopped adding WiMAX coverage.

Averages here in Vegas at least between 4-7mbps on the upload 1-2 down. Fast enough for me. Sprint has always been awful. Well at least here in Vegas. And were talking about Tmobile's 3g is abt that fast also!

I'm getting 15mbps download and 2mbps upload speeds constantly. At certain times of the day, I can get 20-26mbps but that's cause I like 1/4 mile away from a tower lol.

So they are actually offering their 3G+ service? I figured this was standard. Do you guys have to pay extra to go from standard 3G to improved 3G?

No. No extra tmobiles 3g or 3g+ or 4g whatever ya wanna call it really is one of the best. Just wait until they get lte going. They will really be flying. I really don't understand how Sprint is still the number 3 carrier.

My Galaxy Note 2 on tmobile does extremely well with Hspa Plus 42mbps network. In New York City Tmobile bitch slaps Verizon very easily we won't even discuss sprint they are so pitiful.
