T-Mobile: Yet again the biggest loser with the announcement of the iPhone 5

0. phoneArena 12 Sep 2012, 14:59 posted on

Well folks, T-Mobile USA is yet again the biggest loser with this latest iPhone announcement. Sure, we’ve seen them advertise about getting an iPhone unlocked so you can use it on their network – with the aid of the microSIM cards they sell, of course...

This is a discussion for a news. To read the whole news, click here

There has to be some sort of deal going on to sell off T-Mobile or combine. They don't want to spend any more money and sign a contract with apple when their future is uncertain.

That's totally fine with me. Look what happened to Sprint when they introduced the iPhone. Data speeds got 2x worse.

No thanks.

And that didn't happen with ATT or Verizon? Sprint has gotten a lot better. With this new iphone, all 3 majors will finally get a good test of their LTE no? And isn't T-mobs 3g technology superior? Why would T-mob want a LTE phone without any serious plans of LTE anyway. That should answer the question.

No, I could care less. I am more than happy with my new Galaxy S3. Not everyone wants an IPhone. And if we did, we wouldn't be with Tmobile. If you don't have the funds to pay full retail for it then you would have to wait for your contract to be up or within 2 months of being up to get new customer pricing, even with a carrier that has it. At that point, one could just switch to another carrier if it's that important to them.

Tmobile is the only smart carrier. This new iphone sucks, it's the same design as the two previous iphones and not much better. Nothing new or cool about it, just really expensive. iphone is playing catch up to android now too. iphone is over rated and is just costing carriers lots of money, so kudos to tmobile for being smart, sprint should take notes.

They'll be losers for a long time, not because of iPhone. Stupid, s**tty, biased, article title.

Probably one of the most unprofessional articles I've seen on this site. It should be titled "T-Mobile: Yet again to not receive the iPhone." T-Mobile is a good company with probably one of the most impressive HSPDA+ network, which by the way beats Sprints "LTE" network in speed. That aside, they really need these articles to start being more professional and not something a high school student would write.

In over 100 cities man, considering I live in a 60k population town and it is listed as an hspa+ 42mbps market(Lumberton, Texas) & sprint having dial up speeds, not to mention too far out into the city sprint loses signal lol what a shame hahaha! & I just get kicked to 3G, same spot I was with a friend and we compared our phones lol

Opinións are like assholes we all have one. This post is your thoughts clearly your not on Tmobile. Tmobile is doing just fine and my Samsung Galaxy S3 works just fine on Tmobile and it's GSM HSPA PLUS 42MPS network. Matter of fact we are preparing for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in 6weeks. Looks like we are doing well enough on the only true unlimited data network with the best battery life on any carrier...

Wow. What a terrible article! I am a happy T-Mobile customer and I love that my HSPA+42 on my GS3 beats out LTE where I live and work. T-Mobile may be #4 right now, but it has nothing to with carrying an already outdated phone. The new iPhone doesn't bring anything new to the table. No need to carry it when there are going to be at least 5 bigger, better, and innovative coming in the next 6-8 months.

When T-Mobile starts deploying LTE Advanced in the Summer 2013, it could become the nation's 3rd largest carrier.

LTE Advanced with HSPA+ 42 as back haul will make me one happy customer.

I think this guy who ever wrote it is THE BIGGEST LOOSER/IDIOT. T-Mobile is smart FROM NOT getting the iphone they would loose their unlimited data like i did with AT&T. They don't have to pay extra just to sell the crappy iPhone. plus T-MOBILE have some of the best Android phones in their line up. This shows u he's a real sheeep

Couldn't care less for iCrap or any of that, as long as I get better, faster, and more reliable service than sprint, while paying half the price I'm content lol

biggest loser? because they refuse to bow to Apple's rediculous demands? I Think that makes them the biggest WINNER.

There is a reason they are able to offer such a high speed, high tech network at nearly half the price of the bigger networks.. no iphone. They are not riddled with unsustainable debt like sprint nor are they charging 140 for a single line like ATT/VZW. But yet, if you want an iphone, it works perfectly fine on Tmobile, and in many places works on 3g/4g now.

I would call that a WIN.

And T-Mobile in europe gets the iPhone 5.... Deutsche Telekom is one of the carriers on Apple's list. And for those who don't know, that is T-Mobile in Europe. But i think the iphone 5 will work on TMo's 4G network. Based on the bands and wireless capabilities of this new device... I'm saying this because i noticed it does have both the 1700 and the 2100... might not be AWS bands tho. We'll see, but with T-Mobile rolling out the LTE already the AWS bands won't matter anymore, in fact the HTC one S for T-Mobile doesn't have those bands at all and it works on its 4G network lightning fast. These ppl need to make up their minds and make an international standard band or 2 bands for all phones. So many dif. bands and spectrums it's crazy stupid. You like this other phone but you can't use it on your network, only on that one. Retards.

Also, the original writer, probably caught in a bit of iphone hysteria, seems to forget that the "need" for an iphone on the carrier has been diminishing every year. They are no longer crazily saught after items... they are everywhere from premium priced ATT & VZW to lil guys like cricket and at walmart. Their sales are high but their market share is shrinking.
The biggest seller right now is Samsung, not Apple. TMobile has samsung in spades. And they have none of the BS Apple shackles that the other carriers do.

Dumb post!!! Does the fact that cricket gets the iPhone make it better than Tmo???? Heck no. To answer your question, I've been a tmo customer since 2006, I have loved every minute of it and I am so glad they dont have the iBlah !!!
