T-Mobile USA will launch 3G services in 2007
This article contains unofficial information.
T-Mobile USA received its AWS license grants from the FCC and is planning to commercially launch its next-generation 3G network, during the next year. According to the carrier, this will enhance core-voice services and deliver applications that will take consumer-based PC functionality mobile.
Nokia and Ericsson will provide 3G mobile phone infrastructure to the carrier to rollout its next-generation network around the States.
The next generation network will allow customers to use higher speed data over the air through UMTS or HSDPA which are the upgrades to the current GPRS and EDGE. A main advantage of the high-speed is also the option for Video Calling, which unfortunately is still not offered in the States.
