Using a custom kernel, those wielding a T-Mobile G2x can overclock the device to 1.5GHz; the kernel is for Froyo only and supports custom ROMs or a rooted version of the phone and can be easily flashed to the handset...

A co-worker of mine says he is using this kernel and your article is a little off. Says the kernel is undervolted so battery life is better than before.

Damn that pretty good..I was going to the G2X but i saw the HTC Sensation..The samsung galaxy s2 is nice but it taking to long and Tmobile is not getting it.

i got my g2x to hit 4,261 in quadrant standard.
specs:
stock Froyo 2.2.2 over clocked to 1.5 ghz with trinity kernel

I have a friend that works for tmobile and he has the G2x with Trinity kernal clocked at 1.5 as well and got over 4k quadrant score as clutch 12 mentioned. This phone is a beast as soon as things look a bit ore stable i shall be doing the same on my g2x.

yeah you better stick to your iOS where you can't tweak anything or learn through experimentation. Yes, stick to your simple play toy and don't bother us PC guys who like to overclock and push our hardware to the limits.

yeah, it was probably Quadrant on the first run. Everyone knows you gotta do at least 3-4 runs to get the best results...
maybe PA didn't want to hurt the SGSII guys feelings =p

bah, at least they are trying to take steps to look less like applephonearena and bringing us fun things about other phones.
The only danger in these types of posts is it gets a bunch of people who have no business rooting their phones all excited to try this stuff. That just leads to more people coming in my store trying to pretend they dont know why their phone doesnt work.. lol
Oh well.. pushing it to the limits is half the fun of android. :)
