Swype update makes it a smarter 4-in-1 keyboard

0. phoneArena 20 Jun 2012, 08:17 posted on

After Nuance bought Swype, you could have predicted that big changes were coming to the swipe to type system which is now being called a 4 in 1 input system after its biggest update ever; the changes allow users to use Swype to dictate text to be typed, type as a regular QWERTY and swipe to input text...

"Swype is not available from any online application store,...' I never understood why it isn't in any store even though it's pretty popular.

Because it's more profitable for them to exclusively licence them to OEMs than putting it up on the Play Store.

Hey,
I think it is the best keyboard. I used it ALL THE TIME on Gingerbread, but when I started using the Galaxy Nexus or HTC One X it was not there and I had to download it... Problem is when I used it on ICS it came out really tiny like a quarter of the size it shb. I posted on their forum only to see many others were doing the same thing... and experiencing the same problems. With the Nuance acquisition I thought this kb sh gotten better and respond to problems quicker AND FOR SURE BE ON play.android.com and NOT be in beta forever... Well I have taken to other imposter kb's and am ok with it even though I know swype when working was better...
Anybody know if they fixed the kb size issue not expanding to normal size on these new BIGGER SCREEN kb's?
hey swype put it on the Market...

In the old swype, you hold the back button and it vibrates removes the entire word so you know when to let go if you're not looking at ur screen.

In the new swype better, holding the back button makes it delete letter for letter, so it's hard to lift your finger off accurately to stop at the word you want to continue from.

I miss that old feature.
