SwiftKey update for the Apple iPhone allows you to use iOS 9.1 emoji

5comments

A new update for third party keyboard app SwiftKey, allows iPhone users to access the emoji that Apple added to its mobile platform with iOS 9.1. That includes the now infamous emoji showing the middle-finger salute. Other emoji now available to SwiftKey users on iOS include a unicorn, a wedge of Swiss Cheese, a turkey (how topical is that?) and a lion among the many other emoji that you can use in your messages.

With SwiftKey's emoji prediction feature, the app predicts which one you probably will use next. And with SwiftKey's Emoji Insights report, you can see which characters are your favorites. You see, SwiftKey gathers information about emoji use from all of its subscribers. That information culminated in SwiftKey's report, issued last June, which revealed the most popular emoji in different countries. The U.S. leads the world in sending out messages with a turkey leg, an eggplant, the iPhone, a baseball, a basketball and a slice of pizza.

The updated version of SwiftKey should soon make its way to your iPhone. If you haven't downloaded the app yet, it is free from the App Store although there are a number of in-app purchases you can make. Different themes are offered to SwiftKey users, starting at 99 cents. If you're interested in finding a different keyboard to use on your iPhone, and still have the ability to use the iOS 9.1 emoji, download and install SwiftKey now.
