Is the android robot dancing or something?

Also I would like if someone would pile up year comparisons between those numbers. Like customer satisfaction and consumer awareness of a device or platform compared with previous year. That would be great

Yeah those numbers change quite a lot and I would really like if someone would put them together and tell us how the OS's are doing compared with last year

The 39% number makes sense given how Apple has been able to reverse Android's dominance in the US smartphone market. source:http://articles.businessinsider.com/2012-01-09/tech/30606530_1_new-iphone-android-sales-verizon-customers

Here are some important factoid from the original article:
"Android enjoys an installed base of 39 percent in the United States, with 39 percent of respondents vowing to buy an Android handset in the next six months. Currently, 25 percent of respondents own an iPhone, but 35 percent of respondents said they are leaning toward purchasing an iPhone in the next six months."

"Noting that RIM and Microsoft are having a hard time coaxing their existing customer bases to buy new phones, Lewis said 20 percent U.S. consumers own a RIM BlackBerry, but only 12 percent intending to buy a smartphone in the next six months will purchase a BlackBerry handset.

Of the 14 percent of consumers who own a Windows Mobile-based device, only 9 percent of those asked said they would pick up a phone based on the new Windows Phone OS."

oooh.. dr. negative!

you know what i LOOOOVE about these surveys? Normally they have iphone at the top of the heap but it never translates to direct sales. Why? Because people that dont have a cell have no idea what any of them are so they pick the one theyve heard about.. the iphone. When they get to the store they see the different choices and go android. Now finally, android is leading these surveys... so that spells a spot of trouble for apple who's conversion from "im going to buy" to "i bought" has always been lower than android's.

do you even read what I said? what I said is simple

las year I remember the iPhone having the biggest preference rate among regular consumers with over 30% of people willing to buy an iPhone yet android kept groin through the entire year now we have a chart saying over 30% of users will prefer android

this is not a market share stat this is not a sales chart simply android awareness seems to have grown and customers preference on the OS too but again there are lots of things that need to be taken to account when checking this.

now I don't see iOS holding back android as I expected sales to be reduced in the quarters the iPhone gets released, numbers like going up and down

Hehe... Groin...

> do you even read what I said?

And did you read my response. I just add to your comment. All I did was to suplpy you some statistic like you asked.

Normal people would call this having a discussion.

1-You've already posted this as a reply to my comments 3 times in different posts if I'm not mistaken

2- what I mean is that every year the same group or person do a similar poll asking people what OS they like and what OS they plan to buy. I would like to see that crunched together on a post on the site. Its what I mean.

Now let me go an explain this a bit further with a small perception of Android to some average people and fanboys I'll arrange it by how I think they go in order From lower to higher.

1. What's Android?
2. Copy of iOS
3. Poor guys iPhone
4. The phone for geeks and complicated stuff
5. A Droid?
6. A nice OS it has its bad moments
7. A phone I can rely on

As I think Android has grown from being a not known os to something people talk about to something people like and in the future (if done right) something people love to the core. Now people opinions are tricky because depends on so much what type of people you ask. Yet would be nice to see how is Android doing compared with how it was doing last year in terms of people accepting it
