pathetic!!! this is stupid!! why 7.8? why not WP8?! WP8 needs at least 512 RAM right? and modern support not really all modernize, so i guess single core snapdragon processor will be just fine!!!

nokia, please dont cheat on people on that market.. let them experience WP8 on cheap price!!!

only rumors, they'll never launch a phone with an old OS

chill dude.. its your reaction to this rumor that is pathetic and stupid. i think nokia have enough marketing brains to know what their doing

i know i might be over reacting but some bloggers also think it that way.. since rasing the RAM and processor will cost nokia(manufacturers) to pay more...

thats why i hate that microsoft is on monopoly on WP processor.. only Qualcomm!!! theirs a lot of chips out there and cheap--there's NVIDIA Tegra, Texas Instruments OMAP, Samsung Exynos, and even MediaTek..

i tihnk rasing the RAM will be ok since i think WP8 will be ok with 512 RAM.. the leak Nokia Arrow is running with 512 RAM but that's a Midrange already...

i think if they just make the 3.5/3.7 size in low end smartphone it will cut the cost..

i'll be happy if 7.8 will have BT transfer, microSD and other goodies that will be avaiable to WP8..but no... it wont happen...

I'm not buying this. I'm too smart. And I won't feel sorry for the suckers that will.

Why would someone be a sucker to buy this? if the price is low enough i think such a nokia would sure beat buying a sheap ass android. lets not forget, wp7.x can run on low specs, android 4.x can not.

Nokia' s strategy is always dumb. I once remembered my friends but a Nokia n72 for around $250 in india. After 8 months, my other friend bought it for $116. Things were worse when my other friend got a nokia N98 for $625 and after one year, its price was slashed to $339 . Nokia is a good company but it should work out on strategies. Moving to WP7 when WP8 was around the corner and dumping meego at the same time was a very bad idea.

Waste of Phone, 512MB atleast

11. ogy_dogy posted on 03 Sep 2012, 03:03

Well i for one think this is a good idea, they should stop making ashas and sell wp7.8 at a lover pricepoint, my mum would love to have one, and for us tech geeks well have our wp8 dreadnoughts...

13. pikapowerize (banned) posted on 03 Sep 2012, 03:09

no, it is till pricey! asha is below $140 and lumia 610 starts at $180

this is due to the processor since microsoft only allow qualcomm chips on WP.. if they could throw brodcom(the one that power the asha series and symbian series) it might cut the pricetag!

14. ogy_dogy posted on 03 Sep 2012, 03:19

Yes, but the trend is to introduce cheaper and cheaper smartphones, at the end of 2010 when i got my optimus 7 it was the cheapest wp7, and it cost around 450€, the 610s are now one third of that cost... so who knows, things might change again. ill wat for the official announcment, most of these rumours are false...
