If you plan on snatching the HTC Flyer once it’s made available, and you really want to use that optional Stylus for its fancy Scribe technology, you’re going to shell out more than you think for it. In fact, you can pick...

Add in shipping and tax (which more and more states are adding their little pennies to as well) and you are looking at close to 100$ more added to the cost of the Flyer. Ugh. HTC- kinda cold hearted on this one.

I am a fan of HTC, but this is a fail in my opinion. The Scribe pen was the one thing that differentiated the Flyer from other tablets. Not including it with the Flyer purchase is a fail of epic proportions.

I was actually reading on a few other sites about this and they state that this is just an additional option, such as if you lose the one that comes with the Flyer, or want on for a different tablet. But yes, they say that the HTC Flyer does come with one.

one reason for the success of ipad and iphone is you dont need a stylus. htc flyer may sell well but i doubt the pen will especially if htc plan to sell it seperately.

I'm really starting to get tired of all these articles on the HTC Flyer's Stylus being "ridiculously" expensive, priced at $79.99. With the features it brings to the tablet, it's well worth the money.

I agree that it's not ridiculously expensive, but at the same time, if the stylus is not included in the initial purchase HTC will lose sales as people will not want to pay the initial cost for the tablet and then another 79.99 for the stylus. If that is the price to get a spare/replacement and it will still ship with one then all this bickering is pointless.

I think that Asus is going to see even more demand now that HTC has biffed it on the flyer. I just hope they (Asus) have got their supply channel sorted out. Cause if they can supply, the demand will be there.
Interesting how at $450 the sales take off, but at $500+ they don't....
