Nice shot at back pedaling. Clearly the iphone is getting stale for a lot of people, the co-founder of Apple included. Maybe they should push up the release of the next gen iphone even earlier than May.

next gen iphone is CDMA..its now only for GSM..NOT worth switching

actually, it may not be CDMA even though it may be for verizon. the phone will most likely be 4g LTE, which most likely wont be using CDMA technology. AT&T and Verizon will both be using LTE

@sleepyjohnny just because LTE is coming it wont be everywhere. The 3G EVDO network will still be there to support the other coverage areas, and 1X will still carry the voice calls. So in short you are wrong.

umm... no. nobody can be wrong because there is no definite. from what ive read, LTE will be using SIMs... even for Verizon. Just like sprint/nextel, verizon will be using two different net works. they havent stated whether or not they will be using voice, 3G, and 4G all in one phone... and why would they?so yes there still will be 3G EVDO and EVDO rev. A, but the next gen iphone doesnt have to be CDMA

@sleepyjohnny Verizon's LTE deployment will not be immediate. It's going to take time. There will be coverage gaps. Large-scale deployment won't even take place until 2011. Why even include 4G radios if the device won't be able to utilize for several months at the minimum? AT&t has said they would build an LTE network but that's a long ways away. They haven't even begun the planning stages. They're likely more concerned about their current 3G network. Not only does it have a smaller footprint and covers less of the population than Verizon's, but there are connection and speed problems for people in large, dense metropolitan areas. Even their EDGE network is pretty crappy. Every time I switch my iPhone to EDGE, I get missed calls, late arriving emails and texts. I personally wouldn't care if AT&T makes the jump to LTE for now as long as they go 21 Mbps HSPA+

are most people that say a cdma iphone wont work retarded? yes cdma is not used worldwide but in the states its so much reliable than gsm so what if u cant talk and surf the web at the same time .. 4G is going to change that . lte can handle voice and data at the same time just like gsm. i met a lot of people that say a verizon iphone will not be good for people that travel overseas. because everyone overseas uses gsm. well guess what im pretty sure that they can make a hybrid iphone like the blackberry storm. it works on cdma here in america but when u travel overseas it automatically switches to gsm. u dont even have to do anything it does it on its own i know this because i used my verizon blackberry storm2 in spain and it worked flawlessly . i even got 3G hsdpa reception roaming via vodafone spain. so i was able to send picture messages call, use the internet and the verizon navigator just like if i was here in the states... so yea .. im pretty sure they can do that with a verizon iphone for those who travel overseas. also alot of people are yea verizon locks all the good feautures like bluetooth ,gps etc.. well guess what on their latest phones cough cough droid everything is unlocked bluetooth ,gps u dont even have to use the vcast and verizon navigator on the droid...
