Steve Wozniak says opening movie scene in jOBS was made up

0. phoneArena posted on 24 Jan 2013, 15:44

The opening scene of the upcoming jOBS film shows Steve Jobs all excited about the future of personal computing while making it appear that Steve Wozniak was unaware of the value of what he was building and it's a decent opening that would apparently set the stage for the rest of the movie; the problem is, according to The Woz, it never happened...

It gets released, and will probably make a good amount at the box office.

If it is depicting everything "WRONG" right from the word go and bots still go and watch it then have nothing further to add

I disagree, I think that the movie will bomb and very few people will attend. When you think about it, why go see a movie when you already know the plot; you already know the lies; and, you already know the ending??! If you're into that kind of movie you can just watch "Titanic" available on BluRay because 'your heart will go on' even after the boat sinks!!!!

"The Social Network" is one of the highest grossing films of all time. It was stupid, boring, innacurate, and everyone that cared to know how FB got started already knew.

I'm not defending nor endorsing TSN by any means, just making the point that idiotic movies like that do phenomenally well. Sadly, I can pretty much guarantee jOBS will smash box office records due to hipsters, the elderly, teenage girls, and drones coming out in waves to see it again and again.

It'll be in the discounted bin three months after going to DVD.

Sounds like the movie is going to worship Jobs. My money is on Andy Rubin and Eric Schmidt being shown as mustache twirling villains.

8. Alan01 posted on 24 Jan 2013, 16:53 3

Don't forget that the movie only covers up to the year 2000, so Schmidt and Rubin won't be in it...if there is a villianj, it could be Sculley

I do not know about Andy but Eric Schmidt is a villain, not in the movie but in real.

They should just redo the movie. The title: The Woz

34. SonyXperiaNexus posted on 25 Jan 2013, 03:20 1

lol but ithink theres another movie starring him. the Wizard of OZ (WOZ in short) :)

39. Reluctant_Human posted on 25 Jan 2013, 11:18 1

It makes no sense that they wouldn't consult the guys that lived through it. I'm going to pass on this piece of fiction that's essentially going suck off Steve Job's for an hour and a half other than portray the truth.

42. Droiddoes posted on 25 Jan 2013, 13:24 1

It does and it doesn't. Hollwood is obviously notorious for skewing altering or straight up ommitting/creating facts for biopics "true story" movies.
But yeah I do hate that Steve Wozniak, who is one of the nicest guys...well anywhere...is probabl;y going to be portrayed as a fat bumbling nervous wreck who would've given up and worked at McDonalds if not for the "great" steve jobs.

Sadly, he's ruined Two and A Half Men; so, I guess this movie is doomed [too]!

12. jjjsong posted on 24 Jan 2013, 17:24 1

A lot of things have to be made up for the movie to be interesting.

There weren't that many out of ordinary things happened really.

26. jroc74 posted on 24 Jan 2013, 21:01 1

If you really pay attention....some article writers seem to favor Apple. Its not all animosty. Some writers are just unbiased...and for some reason.....some ppl dont see that.

And I see, have seen plenty of Android articles thats not in a positive light. Maybe this is a case of seeing what you wanna see.

And you left out Blackberry....lol. Or do they seem to favor Blackberry to you?

If Woz was CEO of Apple, I wouldn't hate Apple so much.

Steve Woz is the best Steve.

45. Droiddoes posted on 25 Jan 2013, 13:27

I can get behind that. I like the mans style and attitude, just seems like a really great guy.

24. stealthd posted on 24 Jan 2013, 20:48 3

It's a movie, not a documentary. It's designed to entertain, not to convey facts. That doesn't mean the spirit of what they're saying isn't true or inspired by real quotes or opinions. The conversation in the clip obviously didn't happen exactly as the same in real life, but I do seem to remember hearing a quote from Jobs, going something along the lines of if you asked someone over a hundred years ago, around the time of the invention of the automobile, what they wanted, they wouldn't say a car, they'd say they want a faster horse. Sounds pretty similar to Kutcher's line in the clip. Maybe Jobs never said anything like that in the early days, but who cares, it's a movie.

29. mick25 (banned) posted on 24 Jan 2013, 21:10 5 1

Butthurt iFag detected.

Doesn't matter if it's a movie or not. They portrait as a biography and viewers will treat it as such.

25. jroc74 posted on 24 Jan 2013, 20:59 2

As an Android fan....who did follow Apple alot back in the day.....any one that followed Apple alot back in the day...and up to this day knows the Woz wasnt as clueless as that.

For that one fact alone...I probably wont even look at the movie. I have a feeling they are gonna make Jobs seem like God Almighty.

33. cyborg009 posted on 25 Jan 2013, 03:05

No disrespect but Kutcher is not able to do justice to Steve Jobs character !!

Wait.. so your telling me that the ONE living person who was actually hugely responsible for early Apple was not even consulted or checked for accuracy????

LOLOLOLOL

Hollywood is aa big of a bunch of idiot fanboys as some of the trolls on here..

47. Droiddoes posted on 25 Jan 2013, 13:30 1

They very well may have consulted him, and after finding out first hand what a thieving lying backstabbing peice of iSh*t jobs was they decided that conversation was over.

38. timtimity posted on 25 Jan 2013, 08:36 1

Woz is always smiling. It's refreshing to see someone in the industry who genuinely seems to be a nice guy (I'm sure lots of people are, but there are also a lot who seem insincere, arrogant and smug).

Why must everyone turn things into an argument??

I can happily say, I'm a Android fan. I also think Steve Jobs was brilliant. His passing has made a huge void in the technology AND marketing world. Argue all you want about my opinions.

What apple is today, is not what I think Steve Jobs would want. I dislike apple 2013 and don't see myself ever having an interest any day soon. With all that being said..............

Its a movie, plain and simple. Fact or fiction, its entertainment for ALOT of people. Dont like it, stay home. Interested, go get a huge bucket of popcorn and some Juju beans and maybe a X large diet soda, sit down and watch. It doesn't matter to me and it shouldn't matter to any of you. ITS A MOVIE! NOT REAL!!

52. luxzy801 posted on 01 Feb 2013, 20:05

Actually, apple today is exactly what Steve Jobs wanted. Jobs's idea of technology was "PROPRIETARY". Look at any apple product before 2005 (and a lot of it today), it was all proprietary, Jobs's concept was F*** the people and make money. His whole plan for apple was for people to buy it from him, that is why he has never let anyone sell apple or market it in such a way that would give someone else credit for his "work" (Wink, Wink). Look at the iPod, he was so hesitant to let HP develop the iTunes software for PC that he actually had nothing to do with it, same thing with the original iTunes phone (Motorola ROKR), which Jobs said was dissapointing (Even though it sold like hot cakes) because they did not buy it from him. His whole idea for the iPhone was to rip off everyone else to get people to come to apple, luckily for him, he chose the right time. If not for the events between 2006 and 2007, the iPhone would have sank (Think about an iPhone release in 2004, people would have laughed and it would have been another WinMo). 2006-2007: microsoft screwed the public with Vista (BAD IDEA MA'IN), Nokia was blowing up all around the world with the idea of a constant connectivity device (SMARTPHONE) and more and more people started carrying smart devices (WINMO, PALM and NOKIA S60s). and Blackberry proved that point by bringing an attractive smartphone the blew up as soon as it was released (Every person had a Pearl), not to mention Danger's Sidekick, which was the same type of concept as the iPhone itself. Jobs was a lying, manipulative, thieving a** punk, but then again, so was everyone else, that is why we are where we are today with technology, UNFORTUNATELY...
