I was like the only one in my house that was devastated to hear this news because I'm the only one who really keeps up with tech news and whatnot. But man, it's really sad to see such a great man who innovated the technology landscape pass away. This is such a great loss to the tech world and I just don't know what to say. Although I never bought an iPod/Phone/Pad or a Mac, I still looked up to him because he was a visionary who took a chance that paid off. RIP Steve Jobs, you will be missed.

I disagree their is different ways to grieve and hummer if it is in good taste is not disrespectful. Steve had a better life up till the end than anybody on this coment section. Be happy for him he lived a great life. He lived it to the fullest and I bet he would enjoy light humer. Every funerual I have been to that went by good always had light hummer by somebody to break up the sadness and sometimes make people think about the good times there was.

biophone, I know you are upset, but to cry really?
Shouldn’t you cry if say you parents died, or your grandparents, but Steve Jobs? He wouldn't have cried if you died. I know that you are upset, I am upset, but to cry seems a little too much. That is life WE all will die. It's the circle of life, some people die now & some people die later. biophone one day you will die. Let’s celebrate Steve Jobs life not cry about it!

R.I.P. Steve Jobs.

Some of the bloggers in here may have hated you, but not even them can deny that you have pushed the mobile tech industry to where it's at right now. You and your works will be greatly missed.

My heart goes out to his family who meant so much to him, and has inspired him to do all the great things he did all these years.

I was going to skip iPhone4S. But in Steve's memory, and in keeping with his legacy, I will be getting it.

for most its not a hate against steve, its a hate against apple, but yes, regardless of the fanboy wars, apple did a lot for the industry and its in its current state because of apple's mega catalyst iPhone. Apple got there because of steve's vision and control, and that is something that is going to be forever missing. I dont like the company but I do admire what the man has accomplished.

Apple is on shakey ground. Apple is so tied to Steve its not funny. They have a "how to think like steve" school at apple for the executives. Yes, they will survive. The i5 is probably getting ready for testing and the i6 is probably in some sort of proto form, but from there ... who knows. Companies normally have the next generation or 2 of product planned out or even created before the current generation hits the streets.

Anyways, my point is apple's future is not nearly as shiney as it was 2 days ago.

This really has been the worst week for apple between the i4s mess and Steve's death.

To say he was a great human being is a far stretch from reality. He paid to have people moved off of the top of the organ transplant recipient list so he could be put at the top. He was a great businessman and created a Titan of a company, but you cannot equate that to being a great human being. He was ruthless in business and that made Apple huge. Ask Steve Woznyak how much Jobs told him their commission was for the Apple II sales pitch. It is sad to see another person die, but he is human, it eventually happens. He was sick. I feel for his family but it was inevitable. Pancreatic cancer has a high mortality rate. Transplant or not. For all the Apple nuts, rest assured, Jobs left a 5-year plan for development of product. Ask any Apple employees. Beyond that, good luck. I doubt anyone in that group of executives is going to have that Arrogance and cut-throat mindset to lead Apple into the future beyond that.

Dude 530gemini, celebrate his life. Don't cry for him, you should cry if your parents died (God forbid) but Steve Jobs, he is just another man. He put his pants on like you & I do. He would not cry for you, so why cry for him? I understand you are upset, I am upset. The loss of life is sad but that is life for you. Don't be sad & just celebrate his life & learn from him. I don't think he wants anyone to mourn him. From all the interviews I have seen on Steve Jobs & between my Fathers personal relationship with him he seemed to love life & he was a happy go lucky kind of guy. So just celebrate his life, don’t be sad! :-)

Rest In Peace Steve, through your innovation and confidence, you have set the standard for the tech industry on what now is the go to or comparison. Working in the cell industry over the last 5 years, the words "apple" and iPhone" have come up constantly. Like his product or not, he shaped an industry through hard work, and a never limited imagination.

dont be a jackass. a man is dead. like him or not, he was an important man to a lot of people, including everyone on the ANDROID camp, and everyone that likes smart phones. Without Apple shaking up the industry we wouldnt have a lot of the cool things that we enjoy today in the smartphone world. Pay your respects or shut the FI_ICK up so others can pay theirs and mourn.

There would be no android without the iPhone. Just palm windows phone and blackberry. If there was android it would not be as good. There still might be just resistive toch screens also. I used to think for ever why do they not use the glass copasitive screens. Steve knew this and made it happen
