Staples pricing of the Toshiba Thrive falls right in line with what other major retailers, such as Best Buy, are offering it for. The 16GB version will run you $399 while the 32GB version will burn a hole in your pocket to the tune of $479.
The Thrive hasn’t exactly been the hot seller that Toshiba envisioned, but when you consider not only the Apple iPad 2’s dominance but the other similarly priced and similarly powerful Android tablets then it really shouldn’t be much of a surprise. The Thrive features a 10.1-inch display, a dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM and two cameras; a 5 megapixel shooter on the back and a front-facing 2 megapixel camera.
Perhaps a change of scenery is just what the Thrive needed to separate itself from the likes of the Acer ICONIA TAB A500, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer and the almighty Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Or perhaps only a price drop will save it now considering Staples carries all of its competitors as well.
