Sprint's unannounced LG Marquee is a LG Optimus Black doppleganger

0. phoneArena 08 Sep 2011, 20:52 posted on

A phone labeled the LG Marquee was spotted in a video from the Radio Shack Business Summit in Dallas and sure enough, the phone has a strong resemblance to the LG Optimus Black with buttons on the left hand side of the device...

Sort of want, but where does this fill a niche that Sprint doesn't already have covered? Especially with the HTC Hero 4G coming out too at the same screen size and single core processor. The Evo 4G I'd getting old but its still for sale and overall is still a great phone and would be a competitor to the Marquee. The Evo 3D and Photon are right above 4.0" screen size and have great dual core specs and are also very new. Plus the Epic Touch at 4.5" over shadows them all at only $199, their all touch, 4"ish line up is getting pretty full. I'm tempted because I like to burn out my eyes at full brightness, but single core and 512mb of ram is just too poor of specs for today, even if it was priced at $99 on contract.

The main point of the phone is the really bright and clear display.

Probably sell it for $50 on contract.

I actually think this phone might be a sleeper hit. Because, its good avg specs, seems like a mid range phone, but the screen comes from very high end phones that rivals Super AMOLED Plus on Samsung phones.

Most mid range phones have some type of WVGA or something.

If you look at the screen it is running stock android so there would be no optimus UI 2.0 which is good or bad depending on your preference. I think bad since optimus UI 2.0 looks pretty cool.
