Sprint's iPhone 4S to come unlocked for international use, Verizon can unlock it for you after 60 days

The downside is that you will be using a different number than your US one, so you have to plan accordingly. Of course, you can stay with Sprint's "roaming SIM" card in, but then the international roaming charges are no picnic...

Hey, guys! I understand that some might not want to have to wait for 60 days to unlock their phones, particularly if they're travelling soon. For such moments like this, I thought I would share my experience with unlockyoursim.com :) I used it when I had to unlock my phone two days before my trip to Brazil. It worked a wonder. Hope this helps anyone else who finds themselves in this situation!

This is a great feature and if I wasn't waiting for the nexus prime I would prob go with sprints iphone version.

I wonder if US 3G bands will be something that could be "unlocked" via jail-breaking? From what I have read, Apple will basically be releasing one iPhone in the US, but may disable the US 3G bands via software on the Sprint/Verizon versions.

I asked verizon to unlock two phones, a blackberry storm2 and a htc trophy. they unlocked both 30 day after I got them. they never told me to wait after 60 days. BTW they work with a mexican sim card (telcel) and also with AT&T sim card with no problem at all.
I hope I got the same experience with this iPhone!!!
